Not sure where those mixed reviews are derived from. Overall this product has out performed my expectations. Grant it was purchased after returning 2 prior 2 in 1 matrix shark bots which I would never recommend to even a foe. The matrix line as for mopping are inconsistent to say the least. Good for a month at best for mopping yet they will continue to vacuum. If I wanted a vacuum bot I would have stayed with the working unit one of the matrix shark bots were supposed to replace. Now, this Shark base is a monster and not requiring to add your own cleaning solution prior to every mop run is fantastic. It still will require some cleaning especially if it gets into construction paper and traps it under the mop pad which then will leave it in the mop pad cleaning reservoir. Final result will look like wet playdoo thanks to our daughter. Yet still beats tinkering with it prior to every scheduled cleaning as those matrix bots required especially after 3 weeks or 9 scheduled cleanings. Also, being $20 less than the $200 I previously purchased it for makes it a great investment for anyone considering a simple set and forget vac/mop bot. I do try to empty the dirty/black water bin which is from the base cleaning the mop pad. Yes, you heard me right it not only sucks the debris out it actually cleans the mop pad for you and drys it depending on the amount of fan time you pick determines how dry you will allow it to get. This robot is pretty much a low maintenance floor cleaning machine which will actually raise its back end up to avoid cords when needed as well. Can’t recommend this model enough. Read the reviews and determine if you will take a gamble on it for yourself. I’m so glad I did!
(Update:) The one I purchased for myself is still working fantastic. However, the open box unit which I purchased as a birthday gift to a family member continues to not work as expected. Grant it I’m not there to watch it run as its set to come on while they are not there however occasionally it does not make it back to the dock which I find odd as the dock continues to remain in the exact same spot yet for some reason it just falls short and dies right in front of the dock. It’s possible being it was an open box unit which did show signs of previous owner once received this is possibly the reason, they no longer own it. I just bought another hopefully it won’t have any issues with it. As, the one I purchased for myself as I already mentioned has been a great addition to our family. Of course, it still requires more needs than that said 30-60 days care-free claim. I inspect the bot when I get an itch to do so and dumping the bin and dirty water is done frequently enough the adding solution is probably the thing I actually do less often so maybe once a month on that definitely not 60 days since it’s scheduled to run several times a week. So, I could see where it could definetly meet those previous claims if it’s only being used once every 2 weeks or maybe even once a week yet definitely not when it’s cleaning more often. Hope this update on my purchases will find those who are looking to purchase that extra push to give it a try and hope they get a flawless cleaning monster bot!
