If this is genuine, its a good deal. The one I received was DOA. Woot cs took it back for a full refund. Not sure if it was a knock off. Check youtube for videos on how to spot fakes.
It’s $109 brand new from europtics and includes a lifetime warranty as opposed to buying a $98 open box which could be susceptible to issues such as the one you raised.
So for $10-$20 more, a lifetime warranty vs 30 day warranty and new vs open box should be a no brainer on the better value. It’s also been this price for months from them and a few other vendors. This price is far too high for an item that isn’t new.

Good point on the warranty, but you forgot about the $14 shipping from europtic. Would the warranty be worth $14? Thats for buyers to decide.
