No Honda motor, no CAT pump. PASS

Please advise where you can get a Honda motor and a CAT triplex pump on a pressure washer for $189…hell, show me one for $399.

The honda motor is over $200, and the CAT pump is over $200, so adding a chassis hose and gun you’re talking about pressure washers in the $600 price point.
I think you’re comparing apples to $600 pressure washers.

Those in the know - if I only want a power washer for washing my deck and my concrete driveway - will this do the job? ( I assume this is what most people use power washers for, but I have no idea.)

Is this brand new?

Yes it absolutely will, I do not know this brand, but it is plenty of PSI to get the job done.

Yes, but use the lower pressure nozzles as this will tear up loose concrete or splinter deck boards. Good deal vs what you would pay at the retail stores.

if we had not just bought a pressure washer then I would jump on this deal, the brand seems to have great ratings, and my husband absolutely refused to have an electric pressure washer… haha

I made the purchase. My concern is shipping damage after they gorilla the heavy item in transport. I will just return it to WOOT if there is damage since getting damaged parts replaced by the supplier is unlikely on an older item. This is a good value considering what you would normally pay for this kind of power. Have a Toro mower with a Kohler engine and have not had any problems with it. Just have to make sure you use engine treatment to neutralize the ethanol moisture problems when not in use. Would have liked something with a bit more power to push water through a driveway/cement cleaner accessory, but the price is right.

Hmm, just noticed that the picture has a Kohler engine and the text indicates a Simpson engine. Maybe they are the same. Also I assume
WOOT will accept a return because of shipment damage as long as it has not been fueled or oiled.

The model in the picture appears to be the MegaShot 3,000 psi 2.4 GPM Gas Pressure Washer Powered by Kohler which Home Depot is currently selling for $299. Sam’s Club advertises the SIMPSON MegaShot 2600 PSI with the Simpson branded engine for $199.

Clarification on what engine this ships with is the deal breaker for me.

The picture is wrong. The Simpson MS60799-S has a Simpson motor, not a Kohler motor.

Here is some information and I suspect the Simpson engine is a Kohler engine:

“Would you be surprised if I told you 94% of residential power equipment is powered by an engine from 1 of 6 companies?”

“What if I told you that every-single-one of the 25 bestselling gas pressure washers has an engine made by either Honda, Briggs and Stratton, Kohler or Generac?”

“Well, the fact is true – the overwhelming majority of power equipment companies choose to outsource the engine expertise to: Briggs and Stratton, Honda, Kohler, Kawasaki, Generac or Subaru.”

“Kohler engines are used mainly by these power equipment brands: Dixon, Toro, Cub Cadet, Ariens, Husqvarna, Gravely, Dixie Chopper, Craftsman, Westinghouse, Simpson.
Engines used in these products: Mowers, generators, ATVs, pressure

“Honda engines are used mainly by these power equipment brands: Husqvarna, Toro, Snapper, MTD Gold, Craftsman, Simpson, Karcher, Pressure Pro, DeWalt, Mi-T-M, Campbell Hausfeld, Powermate.
Engines used in these products: Lawn mowers and tractors, water pumps, pressure washers, generators, outboard marine engines, tillers, snow throwers.”

So Miss Woot Staffer do tell … who makes the engine for this Simpson washer? You should probably tell us since it is a Kohler engine in the photo! If it is indeed the wrong model as depicted, you should probably re-post with the correct model! You don’t want a whole bunch of them returned, do you?

I agree. WOOT needs to be more careful about misrepresenting their products with pictures. Already grounds for a return. I did some digging and someone indicated that another model with a very similar looking engine had the name Shineray on it:

Check out the fun we had in the past with the Simpson Pressure washers

worst experience ever…

Wow! How can they engage in false advertising and refuse a cancellation of the order or an unopened return? At the very least unethical and at the most illegal.
