Lowest price on Amazon has been $755, and it’s usually going in the 900+ range. Large number of negative reviews seem to have been caused by a bad batch and Singer’s lousy handling of it; all reviewers who didn’t get a broken machine seem to really like it.

Note that unlike the Brother, this machine needs to be connected to a computer in order to embroider.

This is a really good deal for a machine with this size hoop. The Brother SE400 (around $300) is a fantastic sewing/embroidery machine but its 4"x4" is limiting.

Reviews from Overstock

Bought this machine in October and it has stayed in the shop more than I’ve been able to use it. Worst machine I’ve ever used. End up pulling out my 40 year old machine and using it. Never got the embroidery equipment out of the box - this machine can’t handle even the most basic requirements of a sewing machine.

I bought this machine on this deal and it sees beautifully, but the embroidery arm is broke.
Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to open it and try it out right away…and by the time I tried it out and went back and forth with Singer support (who have confirmed that something is wrong with the embroidery arm)… I am 4 days past the 21 days to return it to Woot. I can take it to a Singer warranty facility - but the closest one is 4 hours away. :frowning: Trying to decide what to do.

I bought this during this sale and it’s been a great machine for me. There is a learning curve and the facebook groups help a lot with that. I love it, and can do amazing things with it. I do my own digitizing and don’t really use the Singer software, except for sending the designs to the machine. For embroidery, I recommend getting a darning foot.
