I purchased these exact grey mats from Woot last year. Their thickness is closer to a quarter inch rather than the advertised half inch. I also own true half-inch mats and tried connecting them, but there’s a noticeable step down where they meet.

Just as false as a 2x4.
I’ve had these over a year in my garage/shop that I use often but not every day, and they’re holding up to traffic so in my opinion they’re good quality despite their apparent thickness issue.
