I was tempted to get one. My mother uses a cheap smartwatch for like a pedometer and it works fine on her iPhone. Good enough anyways to be a pedometer and inspire her to keep an eye on her sleep and steps even if it’s not perfectly accurate.
But some of the reviews show people were getting their skin literally burns if you go to the mothership. It’s a little unsettling.
Is this any better than a 5Below smartwatch or generic Chinese smartwatch?
I popped on this one. It arrive a few days ago. I was shocked how nice it is. Reminds me of the Apple Watch for a fraction of the cost. Mine came with 2 different bands which I wasn’t aware of. The pedometer is great. I’ve had ZERO issues with it. For $10 I wouldn’t even hesitate. It’s nicer then some $50-$60 watches. You can even set it to remind you to drink water. You will be surprised by the quality. It’s legit.
Hope this helps.

The first thing I noticed compared to my old watch is that the square face shows significantly more text in notifications. Previous watch (paid $3 + $4 shipped from China 3.5 years ago lol) has messages significantly cut off due to the round face and slightly lower resolution.
The screen has unprotected curved edges like many “2.5D glass edge-to-edge” phones/watches. To use the bundled one-piece “bumper case with plastic strap”, you remove the original rubber straps (held on by a pogo pin, no tools required) and slip the bare watch body into the bumper case. The plastic strap on the case has teeth for some reason and they bite into your skin.
Battery life seems good: 95% out of box to 50% after 3+ days though I played with it more than usual. Pedometer, heart rate monitor appears functional (I’m not picky so they don’t need to be crazy accurate). I don’t use Call, Music, exercise, or Alexa. App is functional and has a number of anomalies and annoyances (kind of expected).
I think it basically just is another generic smartwatch from China. My best guess to stay all probably just use a sort of really cheap white label operating system.
The good news is once you realize they’re all basically functionally the same hardware and software you can save money and get a really cheap one. I don’t think you’re losing out much if you get this instead of a $30 one or 40 or $50 one.
Like the nothing smartwatch by CMF for instance that is just basically any generic smartwatch except for it was skinned with some CMF software.
Yeah the price is great although there’s a handful of reviews on there for people that got burns and rashes.
But I’m hoping those are just outliers. Or people with extra sensitive skin.
Because man this is a great value otherwise it’s 10 bucks and it’s using the very fit pro app which isn’t the most amazing thing in the world or anything.
But my mom happens to use an old letscom Budget watch from like 2021 probably. I mean that’s just the name of the company White labeling it it’s basically just the generic IDD88 watch or something from a factory.
But it uses the very fit pro app instead of a different budget app called dafit which a lot of the new ones use.
And just for the sake of not changing things up for my mom I’m sure she would like to have the same app. It keeps track of steps heart rate sleep etc although take all of it with a degree of salt especially sleep tracking.
But if nothing else it’s a semi-functional pedometer which is really all a lot of people need
Agreed. My wife has a Fitbit requirement for her employer provided health insurance and I wouldn’t expect significantly different performance with this device; especially sleep tracking which Fitbit does poorly.
My primary concerns with these devices always lies with the privacy concerns and long-term support associated with the accompanying app/software. Otherwise, there’s not much financial risk with a $9.99 investment.
Yes, after looking at reviews, there are some concerning ones that mention burns and include pictures and what looks like heat rashes. I would think it would be the battery, but one looks like it may be from the sensor or the like, but the reviews really don’t go into detail how they got the burns; if its sudden or long exposure. I would take the dive if there weren’t reviews about burns. But I’ll leave it at that, if I’m buying a Smartwatch I would prob get a major/expensive trusted brand name one. But i guess YMMV if you do decide to jump on this watch at $10. But, some of you are kind of convincing me to try this one @ $10. ![]()
I bought three of them one for me my husband and the other for a friend’s daughter. I put one on and wore it and I perspire so much that I had little burns on the top of my arms where those lights were. I want to return them but I don’t know if I can
I’ve got one I’ll sell you for $9.99 ![]()
