Slim Jim Original 0.28oz (14ct)

Slim Jim Original 0.28oz (14ct)

I received my 3 boxes of Slim Jims last night (DEC 6) at 5 pm. The expiration date is DEC 21… 2 WEEKS from when I received them!! Junk. I also was given a “refund” recently for purchasing Folgers coffee that I bought WELL before it was “sold out” because… they didn’t have any. What’s going on with Woot these days?

Hi there. These are being obtained from Amazon inventory so we don’t have information on them. Amazon is [usually] pretty good at removing expired inventory. Not so much in your two cases though.

Thank you for responding, ThunderThighs (aka IWishPeopleWouldStopHittingOnMe), with regard to this.
Look, I’m a great fan of Woot. I’ve been buying here for literally decades. It just seems like there should be a final check on your perishable inventory expiration dates, and whether you actually HAVE the item available. Kinda basic stuff.

Shouldn’t have run these without a bin check, you know.

It’s not that easy actually. Amazon had dozens of warehouses with the same inventory. Requesting bin checks for all perishable items at all possible warehouses would be a full time job to submit the tickets, monitor, and then get that item up. Each request can take up to 72hours to get a response.

Amazon is supposed to cull out expired inventory. I’m sorry that they don’t do that but it is out of our control.

customer service will always assist though.

hummm. Let me suggest that you are approaching this problem from the wrong perspective. If it is as infrequent as you say, then reject the perishable item at the point of packaging to the consumer. There are scanners in abundance. Teach them.

Teach Amazon? I tried to get them to stop sending a ceramic mug we were selling in a poly bag. They said there was no data to suggest that breakage would be any less if shipped in a box.

I’m passing on feedback that the expired stuff is increasing. That’s all I can do. Sorry.

Don’t be sorry. I understand the position you’re in. Thanks for listening.

Well, I’ve tried contacting Woot customer service, twice now, through the appropriate channels on the website and have received zero responses. I guess Woot thinks that since this technically wasn’t expired yet (expires in 2 weeks from when I received it) that the sale was ok. Guess you expect me to eat 3 boxes (42 slim jims) over the next 2 weeks. Like I said initially, what’s happened to Woot?

Hi there, customer service will reply to the email listed on your Woot account so you’ll want to check there if it’s different from your Amazon account. Response time is typically 24-72 hours and you’ll want to check your spam & junk folders.

Return labels will come directly from UPS, not Woot.

You may want to add info@woot.com to your contacts in your email program.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

Looks like you were refunded yesterday. Make sure to read @pepper114’s post above.

OK, sorry. I finally got my refund email at 1:23 pm today. I checked earlier and there was nothing. Thank you. All is good.

Just so you know your help was appreciated, I gave you 5 stars.
BTW, I live on the east coast, so I have to set my alarm clock to wake me up at 1:00 am to check Woot for deals. If I don’t, the stuff I want would be long gone in the morning. Kind of a pain. Anyway, looking forward to Woot offering that Foldgers coffee I “bought” before it was “sold out”, only to be told you were out of stock. I’m nearly out!

Do they literally say “Expired after…” or “Best By…” ? Because the labels do not mean the same thing. If it says “Best by: DEC 2025,” they’re still technically safe and good to eat (enjoy 'em).

I check the deals at 10pm pacific, and sometimes I stop and think “what TF am I doing with my life”. Admire your dedication, I guess

You are right, it says Best By. Guess it’s just not as fresh or tasty.

I’m long retired and a widower so it doesn’t bother anyone, except my cat who uses the opportunity to yell at me to feed him. Sometimes I’m still up. depends.

We’re talkin’ bout Slim Jim’s, not eclairs. they probably outlast Twinkies in an apocalypse.

Nope. They get gross. This isn’t one of those “oh they’ll be fine” things.
