Smart Ring Health Tracker

Smart Ring Health Tracker

Little review/report on my experience with this ring. The sizing was a bit off and the ring was too big, but I used a sizing kit and put a cushion on the non-sensor side and I’ve been able to keep it on and working to sense my vitals. I had to download the app “Luck Ring” to sync my phone with the ring and the ring has a special little magnetic charging cable that it comes with. It does not come with a case.

Things I like about the ring & app:
It works. It measures my heart rate, blood oxygen, heart rate variability, “stress level??”, sleep and number of steps. There are two cards I didn’t want to use and edited out but you could use mental state (I think you have to manually type in info, like a little journal, for this one) and menstrual cycle also. It has some pretty positive messages about the different aspects it measures and tells me positive or encouraging messages about my health. I don’t have another device to measure against it, like a smart watch, but the data seems to be accurate as far as I can tell. I do think it tells me I’m in light sleep when I’m in bed reading but not actually asleep yet, but that is a minor issue. The ring is lightweight and while glossy black is not my style, the ring is attractive for someone who likes this style. While I initially had to put in my measurements in metric, I was able to switch to feet and lbs once I was into the app (maybe I could have done that earlier, but it wasn’t obvious to me where that setting was).

Things I don’t like about the ring & app:
The connection is spotty. It has trouble staying connected to my phone and reconnecting once it drops. Usually at least once a day, sometimes twice, I have had to go through very specific steps to reconnect it, using the charger, and I’ve occasionally had to restart my phone in order to get the app working correctly again. With the very short charger cable, it isn’t always easy, depending on where I am, to have the ring plugged in and have by phone close to it to reconnect. I just ordered the same type of cable with a longer cord to keep by my bed. I have protective software on my phone and would recommend it you install this app because I’m just not always sure what it is doing to make it buggy. My phone is also a 3 year old android so it could just be because of that. Once I got the screen that I’m attaching as a pic as I was trying do reconnect:

Overall, I’m glad I got this ring to try out using a Smart ring. I learned that I like using one - I’ve never wanted a Smart Watch on my wrist but using this convinced me that I want to start using a ring to track my vitals. I won’t use this one long term, primarily because of the fit. They make may upgrades to the app to make it less buggy, or I might get a newer phone where it works better, so I’ll reserve judgement on the app/connection issue although if you are thinking about using this ring permanently, it is definitely worth keeping in mind. This ring was helpful enough to convince me that I want a more established (& expensive) ring and have put one on my birthday/Christmas list to my spouse. But I will probably keep using this one until I receive the new one.
