Smith’s Edgeware™ Mandoline Slicer

This thing looks evil!

I am a chef, and no way would I pay this for home use, get real!

It’s amazing how much the thumbnail image of this item looks like the Uniden Bluetooth Headset.

I’m Afraid I can’t let you slice that Dave

Oooh, I can’t wait to see the Emergency Room doctor try to sew back on some waffle cut flesh.

Do I “need” a mandoline? Yes

Am I willing to pay $100 for one? No

I don’t care how fancy it is, I would never get $100 worth of use out of it.

I took the end of a fingertip off with a slicer like this. One wrong flick of the wrist while not using the hand guard (because, really, who uses the handguard?) and it was all over.

I thought about it then I remembered I just bought a Slice-o-matic damn.

What is sad about that statement is I did…and I will use it till the little plastic gear breaks on the 2nd potato.

i don’t play the mandolin so i wont be slicing it up either.

can this kind of thing slice baloney or salamis?

Oooh, that thing will crinkle cut your finger in no time. Or is it one of those at home circumcision machines? Either way… I’m in for one!

Can you tell me please, what you would recomend. I have been looking for a mandoline for awhile.

This thing is freaking awesome! I got one as a Christmas present for my husband. It’s awesome, if you need a mandolin, and you have the money, buy it. You will not be disappointed. Check out the previous woot link on this product to see video of it in action.

Don’t buy the plastic kitchen aid, buy this one please. We got the kitchen aid one at sam’s for a good deal and it’s lasted a year, but it’s such a pain in the rear to slice with. The plastic parts aren’t easy to clean. The base wobbles when you try to cut.

This thing doesn’t move when you are slicing. The angle is much easier so your arms won’t get tired. The deck is wider and made of aluminum. Its easy to clean, has a safety lock and a nice display box for the blades when not in use.

I saw the thumbnail and I thought “Yes, just what I wanted” then I saw the price…

can’t bite that much off.

I hope all those Missouri Wooters aren’t planning to start a Bluegrass band… that cannot end well.
