Snapware 22-Piece Storage Set

Learn more about Snapware

Thanksgiving is coming up. Tons of leftovers, don’t let them go bad. Keep em in some good containers.

sorry, I’m going to double check I’m talking on the right product and resubmit later if need be.

edit: in the meantime, previous woot plus on similar snapware:

bye

I have been wanting to try Snapware but feel like I will be cheating on my Pyrex if I do. Decisions, decisions. The one thing that I noticed on the product site is that Snapware and Pyrex are owned by the same company so I am sure these are of the highest quality.

Gather around as Snapware tells “our story”

Does anyone know how these compare to Lock and Lock?

I have both. Lock and lock has thicker plastic and feels stronger overall but they don’t stack as well (I have the nested stackable ones) and the nubs on the container makes them harder to hand wash.

Also, a quick search shows this stuff’s $25 regular price for a 42 pc set at Costco.

Have a Lock & Lock set from woot months ago, all still going strong. Purchased a Snapware set from Amazon a few weeks ago and returned it the next day.

The large rectangles were tough to close; the latch on the lid tends to push on the lock on the container bending the side wall instead of snapping over the lock. One latch broke upon first attempt to lock the container.

Agreed. Hold out for Lock’n’Lock, these suck. A couple of the larger ones won’t close on all four sides, and they’re not as airtight/watertight as Lock’n’Lock, either. Skip them, you will be disappointed.

(I might be less bitter about it if I could be arsed to return things in a timely manner, but I never seem to get around to that, so I end up just eating them. Or in this case, giving them away to someone who doesn’t have any decent storage stuff at all. They’re better than the disposable stuff from the grocery store, but not NEARLY as good as Lock’n’Lock.)

Yeah, but Woot! hasn’t had L&L for quite some time.

Woot!?

steve

It’s annoying that these all appear to be the same color. Every set I’ve seen has different colors for different shapes/sizes. Comes in very handy when digging for the correct lid!

Thanks to the posters with the Lock & Lock comparisons! Came in here to ask the same question. I got that 24 piece Lock & Lock set a while back on woot and love it…wish I would have grabbed a few of them. Though I wouldn’t mind “nestable” ones lol.

I use both these and lock and lock…I find them both to be great containers, never had any problems with either…this is a good deal on a good product !!!

I had one lock-n-lock and have bought many many snapware sets, primarily for three reasons: They nest very nicely when empty, thus making it easy to keep my cupboard of empties organized. They share the same size lids with different depths for some of the sizes which is useful and reduces lid clutter. The lids are color coded so I can easily grab the right lid for the container. These look to be all the same color, which takes away one of the advantages.
They also stack well when full. But personally I threw away my lock-n-lock and bought all snapware for their excellent nesting design.

Um, I’m confused…why would you buy the Woot featured set over this one at The Big A. http://www.amazon.com/Snapware-38-Piece-Airtight-Storage-Container/dp/B00EO0RWQ2

38 pieces for $19.00?

Yeah, I too am throwing in my vote for Lock and Lock and will wait until SOMEBODY gets their arse in gear and offers them. Nudge-nudge, wink-wink, Woot-azon.

Yes, Snapware and Pyrex are both owned by the same company. I work in the Pyrex factory, and can assure you we don’t mind if you buy this set

Another L&L fan here. I got a set of Snapware a while back and was somewhat disappointed. They’re often difficult to close. The hinges on one of mine broke almost immediately as I struggled to do just that.

Don’t know nuthin’ 'bout no Lock & lock, but I got rid of my Tupperware and whatever else in favor of the Snapware. I have several sizes/shapes, and like the poster above, yeah … they’re different sizes with color-coded lids which is a huge plus if you’re not about searching around, so I’m a little less inclined to get all shapes & sizes in the same color. They stack and store like a dream. Once in a while one of the sides on the lid doesn’t want to snap closed but I just give it a whack! and voila! No problem. (I’ve used these for years, by the way.)

These are great for geocache
