All about the fads and popularity to have what is “in” and cool.
Being said, I don’t care for straw-type containers. Hard to hike/travel with. My last moderate inexpensive metal water bottle is all dented on the bottom. The Keen brand is ok.
Prefer a Yeti as it’s more indestructible, plus good handle, dishwasher safe.

Yeah. I look for deals though considering the durability and # uses I’ll get = reasonable.
I’ve got some Yeti coffee mugs (work gift = score!) yet sadly the width is too much to fit into a standard car cupholder. Do wish those were more slim.

I find it fairly amusing that Stanley has been the brand of blue collar workers for decades, then pivoted in like a year to the more colorful version of Yeti. Good on them; their yearly revenue went up 10x.
I’ve never seen peer-reviewed evidence that drinking copious amounts of water during non-sweaty days actually gives health benefits, so I don’t have a use for items like this. I have 32oz and 64oz bottles for sports, but my largest “walkaround” bottle is 20oz. And it has a spout lid because straw/tabbed lids often leak.
