Where the vertuo capsules at‽
I buy these 60 packs from Amazon regularly, and they work out pretty well for me.
Be aware that they tend to get dented in transit, but as long as the crown of the pod opposite the foil (where the pod gets pierced on the ‘bottom’) isn’t dented in too bad they still work fine. Almost all the dents tend to be in the sides, and they tend to be decently fresh, but if you need perfect looking pods you might want to look locally.
@jmalone We confirmed with the supplier that these will be shipped in boxes to mitigate any damage during transit.
Saw these advertised for sale at Bed Bath & Beyond…went, and, same as here, all of the Nespresso pods were not compatible with the vertuo machines. What is the deal?
Nespresso has two lineups – Original and Vertuoline – and they are not compatible with one another. The machines are different, the capsules are different.
The patents on the original have expired already, so Nespresso has to price compete with other companies offering compatible capsules.
The Vertuo is still under patents, meaning exclusive capsules and no sale prices.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
That may well be, but you can still buy Starbucks branded vertuo capsules at places like Target. My comment was merely lamenting the fact that I’d like Woot to have a great deal on the vertuo version of the same thing.
I wouldn’t mind either, but given there’s only one supplier, any deals are unlikely. For the cost reason, I personally continue to use the original instead (with compatible capsules) as one pack of Vertuo pods costs more than all three of my thrifted Nespresso machines.
