Welp, woot and Amazon team up again!
Mine just arrived and it’s one day short of being a full two months past the best by date.
I can’t remember the last time I bought anything from a grocery store that was past its date. Amazon has invested millions on collecting and analyzing MY data but it can’t even keep track of its own inventory.
Hope CS will take this back.

Mine are as least not as long past Best Buy date.. June 9th… ordered June 12 but the date on box and cans is not the date on amazon sticker somewhere someone messed up and put wrong date on inventory sticker causing a oops but it’s still past Best Buy date…
Yeah, the Amazon sticker said 3/29 on the plastic wrapper but the date stamped on the cardboard from the packing plant said 3/17. Either way, past the date.
I don’t buy too much food from Amazon, but I’ve never gotten any past date stuff. I’ve gotten several past date food items from woot through Amazon. I wonder if Amazon just tries to dump old stock on woot and hope people are too lazy to send it back.
I think you answered your own question. No, they’re not dumping old food on us. That doesn’t make sense.
But you buy less food from Amazon on Amazon than you do Woot. Odds are that you’ll see more on Woot because you purchase more.
For a lot of the items that have a lot of inventory, we’ll request a check of inventory in the warehouses with the most inventory before we sell it.
Not to be argumentative, but I don’t buy a ton of food on woot either. In the last year I’ve had three items that have been past the date (not counting coffee which is roasted to order… supposedly). Glad you guys are trying to perform due diligence but with the crazy number of products woot offers these days it’s probably like using a finger to plug an iceberg sized hole in the titanic.
As to it not making sense for Amazon to try to move stock through woot… why not? People on a deal site are probably more likely to accept something slightly out of date than the normal population. I mean, people still buy woot shirts despite the high odds of getting a garment whose graphic wears off in three washes. Does it make sense for woot to give the app a facelift that, while admittedly snazzy, doesn’t really address the issues customers are really interested in (search function?).
Ok, I’m starting to feel ranty and it’s really not a huge deal and I know there really isn’t much woot can do about corporate overloads’ mandates so I’ll stop.
Food items are not returnable so it has nothing to do with sending it back…. Even the wrong item sent they won’t take a return if your lucky you can get the proper item and not just a refund mother ship and here and that has to do with inventory more then anything…. Don’t get me wrong some items close to date doesn’t bother me like the Nespresso pods but I was told it was close to Best Buy / sell by date and dry items but liquids is a different story. Woot customer services does an amazing job and I feel bad when things like this happen and they get a high volume of issues.
Wowzer! You definitely get the prize! I can see maybe missing something by a month… but six?!?! Amazons not even trying.
Oh and check the date on the box/ cans. Those dates were even worse on mine.
Write to CS. They refunded my money and I gave away the cans to a coworker who likes making art out of everyday objects.
