Starbucks Sirena Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

The person who posted the note about the water knob above has great advice, if your single and double shot buttons do not blink initially turn the water on and let 4-8 ounces pour out, then turn it off. The machine should then begin warming up. Thanks for the advice, thought it was broken, turns out it was not.

According to FEDEX, Woot still holds mine captive. Let it go, Woot! Free it and let it make me happy!!!

THANK YOU! I thought mine, delivered this afternoon, was DOA and naturally CS is closed for the weekend, but when I read your post, I kept pumping water (probably 12-16 oz) until the lights began blinking. Next thing I know, cappuccino on my desk!

I’m still having trouble getting my sirena to prime. When I first pressed the power button, the only light that came on was the water light - blinking. I waited, no other lights came on.

I tried turning the steam knob, as others here mentioned, but no water came out. The pump makes a sound like its going to do something, but then it stops after about 5 seconds. I did this at least 5 times in a row with no change.

I REALLY want a cappuccino this morning. :frowning: Ideas?

Thanks…

I wooted this espresso maker on the 5th of June then several days later got an email from Woot saying shipping information was sent to FEDEX on 9 June. FEDEX website initially showed a delivery date of 12 June. FEDEX website now just shows shipment information was sent to them on 9 June with no projected delivery date. Anyone get their expresso make yet or have a similar problem?
Thanks.

So I thought mine was broken too. Thanks to tracedun et al. for the tip on priming with the pump. Those quick start instructions are stupidly vague; they never mentioned what to do if the WATER light was blinking instead of the coffee light.

Just let the pump run for 20-30 seconds to fill up all the tubes, power cycled the thing, and good to go. Thanks wooters

Got my Sirena today but unfortunately it seems to be broken. I turn on power, power light goes on, and blue water light starts blinking. No other lights light up.

I have tried fiddling with the water tank as well as running the steam release a bunch of times. I can hear the pump start but no steam or water exits the nozzle. I have filed the water container, the water level indicator float-magnet works, pressing the release valve shoots a stead stream of water. Any ideas or is this plain DOA?

Five times is nowhere near enough. Do it over and over again, even after water starts coming out. Just keep opening the steam knob the whole way (which, with the steam button turned off as it is here, is actually the hot water dispenser), when the pump shuts off, turn it completely off and do it again. And again. And again.

It took me a whole lot of times, and a whole lot of water, before the machine decided it was properly primed and started flashing the button lights.

Please read this entire page of postings; this issue is what everyone has experienced and various people have detailed the solution.

Oops. Double-post. So as not to waste it, I think I’ll detail the experiences with this machine on my blog at blogs.oldradio.net later tonight…that way, a search for help by someone having the same problem months from now might find it.

Thanks for the suggestions! I probably tried it 40 times (before the post) without a single drop of water coming out. I then watched a movie, 3-4 hours went buy, turned it on, open the release - and boom water! Let it pour a couple of glasses - restarted it - and it now works!

Well, I’ve tried all of the above suggestions, and still no espresso for me. No water comes out, and the only blinking light is the water light.

Any more suggestions? I’m planning to call them tomorrow, but I’d love a latte with my Sunday paper.

Still :frowning:

Ok, well after another 2 hours of waiting it finally gave me some water and I had my cappuccino. A little frustrated that they didn’t say anything about this being normal in the manual…

I guess we’ll get ours after the broken ones get sent back.

Did anyone buy this Sirena and decide they don’t want it? I’m still looking for one and this was a great price but I missed it…

OK now FedEx shows an “anticipated ship date” of June 9… and no anticipated delivery date… What’s going on WOOT! Other’s have already received their machines and mine is MIA… that’s not even close to the “usually ships within 5 days” claim!

Same problem here. Still waiting

Sadly I am still waiting for mine.
My coffee beans are waiting… unground… my grinder sits… alone and my coffee cup is empty.

Oh when will Woot release my machine?

How long does this take to ship? I got a tracking number last Tuesday. But it still has not been picked up from Fed-Ex?

I got mine on June 12th. I have to say that the FedEx tracking did not update until AFTER I received the delivery. Once the delivery was made all of the tracking populated on the website. Mine was shipped on June 9th and Delivered on June 12th. Tracking information became available on June 12th, but its pretty useless at that point. I would call FedEx, they might be able to fill you in on the package’s whereabouts.
