Staub 7-Quart Round Cocotte Oven

For that price is it made out of some endangered mineral or metal or something? or is the color pigment made from some part of an extinct animal?

Cook’s Illustrated listed this model and size as “Recommended” in their new issue.
The major con was a dark interior.
Price listed in the summary is same as here, so the price is fine for this Dutch oven.
I’ve got the Le Crueset in this size, and I use it constantly. It’s probably my most used piece of kitchen ware. Cook’s rates that model as “Highly recommended”. But that’s another$100 more than the Staub model.
You’re paying for the quality, and the attention to detail in construction. This Dutch oven is made in France by a company that has been making high quality enameled cast iron cookware for many years.
This oven isn’t a shoddy, ill- constructed lump of Chinese scrap metal like the knock offs sold in big box stores.
For me, this Woot is the kind of deal in which I’m interested.
