This is an absolute beast. I got this on sale via woot over a year ago. I loved the design in the fact that the designers placed both battery packs next to one another on one side, thus mimicking the weight distribution of a typical fuel powered chainsaw. So when you hold it, it feels right, some other models I’ve seen put the batteries in the back or under the handle…this is by far a much better thought out design.
Actual cutting is impressive. You have to be a little patient with the initial startup of the cut, it is a little different in that regard. Gas powered and electric saws are ready to rip right when the trigger is pushed and the chain is spinning. On this one, and this is the only battery powered I’ve ever used, it takes a few seconds for the saw to really kick in, but once it does…it eats through 7-8 dia branches with ease. I’ve been impressed with the battery life too.
I’ve always been rough on my saws and so far this one is taking it like a champ.
