Does this thing have to be plugged in to work or does it also use a battery?
Requires an extension cord, and at 105dB might as well be a fricking 2-stroke to wake up the neighbors.

Works great.
Remember that it is a chain saw and you have to put oil in the chain oil tank and refill as needed.
You have to make sure the chain stays tight on the bar and not let it get loose.
You NEED a good long extension cord, as it is electric.
You have a good reach with the pole to get limbs high up.
Works SUPPER great with the smaller limbs, say 2 to 4 inch.
It WILL cut larger limbs BUT you need to know what you doing.
I cut back 3 small fruit trees (14 ft), one LARGE (30-40 ft) fruit tree and one large tree/bush in the front yard that was around 6 inches at the base (after cutting all the limbs branches from the top down).
Fruit trees were heavy pruned, and tree/bush was removed completely.
Bought two of the 10" blades here at Woot! a couple months ago. I paid $70+ with tax. I bought two to keep one and gift the other when it was on “sale”
Anyway, I used mine to cut down a tree that had blown over in my daughter’s yard. The tree was about 30’ tall with a trunk base diameter of 12" This little pole saw took the entire tree down to the base. (Several wedge cuts at the base) I had to refill the oil reservoir once while cutting and had to readjust the blade tension once too. It made it through the whole tree without a problem though.
I guess at $50 this is a good deal. I thought the 10" at $65.99 was a decent price.

As I recall the last one for $65 was a TEN inch:)
This is a bit smaller at EIGHT inch .
Before you buy this, make sure that you can get the “consumables”, like the chain itself, into the future. I bought one similar but not this brand and the needed service replacements went out of stock soon thereafter.

Etc. It’s good advice though. These are super popular so parts are available.
