IMO, Surefire is one of the very best flashlights money can buy! I purchased the 6PX PRO about a year ago as an Amazon Deal of the Day for the same price as being asked here and, having now used a “quality” flashlight, will never ever buy a cheapo model again. Just be aware this model only has one output, high. The PRO has low and high where you can use the low for 90% of needs, thus longer battery life. And, of course, Surefires only use Surefire batteries. The other difference is the momentary and steady on modes on the PRO are handled simply by pressing the endcap button where with the TACTICAL you need to twist the endcap to get the steady on mode, not something that can easily be done one-handed. But this is a Surefire and you “won’t” be disappointed with it’s build quality or quality of illumination.
Surefires website shows this light as 600 lumen output…Is this an older model or is the site incorrect?
Yes, they’ve recently made a change to their circuitry to allow double the output … and energy draw. If you’ve ever seen 320 lumens from a high quality flashlight you would be very pleased with this light, especially at this price. The Surefire batteries aren’t inexpensive but, now having used my 320 lumen Surefire PX PRO for a year, I would not be interested in a 600 lumen version because IMO the 320 version fulfills every need anyone needs a flashlight for and does it for less. But, as I mentioned in my other post, I use the low setting on my PRO for 90% of my needs, indoors and out.
What I’m not liking is how the woot page shows it has a ton of positive reviews. Google it, find the amazon product page, sort the reviews…absolutely none of those reviews are for this product(320 lumen). Very deceitful, not cool…
You most certainly do NOT have to use Surefire’s batteries in these lights. I have one of the 6PX Pro lights and it will take ANY CR123-A batteries. I have a lot of lights that use the ubiquitous 18650 and have a charger that supports those. It will also recharge the rechargeable variant of the CR123-A batteries…I got a 6 pack of them on Amazon for a decent price.
That said, it’s not quite as bright with the rechargeable lithiums, but it’s still the brightest light I own that I can put in a pocket. I do keep a stash of new Surefire batteries around just in case, but I just never need them.
Hey there, the Amazon reviews are for three of the SureFire 6PX Series flashlights (diff specs). Plug this ASIN (B07PV53SX1) into the Amazon.com search bar and you’ll see it matches up with ours. Because the Amazon sale is a combo sale, they lump all the reviews together.
Am I blind(ed by the light) or is there no information at all on battery type? I see textures and emitters and milspecs, but no battery.
Cold Fusion?
Flux Capacitor?
CR123A
How many hours of run time does a lithium CR123a battery provide?
I’m losing my trust on good deals on woot. I’ve been following you for years but not feeling the love any more. I can get 750 lument at Lowes for 19.99. Whats the deal???
It’s a surefire. There are always cheaper alternatives but people seek out this brand. You can get a knife for $5 at a gas station or get a Benchmade for $200+. Up to you.
They just cancelled my order for this product… pretty awesome.
I’m very sorry. It’s possible the vendor miscounted their inventory.
