Yesterday it was a baby toy for over $200 that was $11 on Walmart. Today it’s $166 dish drainer. Has WOOT really lost their mind!

It’s a pack of 12 ($166.42 / 12 = $13.868 each)

The pricing makes sense now. But what would someone does with 12 of em though. Just wondering

You connect them sequentially. It’s a cascaded, linear dish rack thing.

You’d think that they’d sell more if they broke them up into single units. What do I know? I don’t work in retail, so I must not be in on all the secrets.

Agreed. These seem targeted to resellers. They’ve been offered like this at least a couple of times now with no apparent buyers.

I suppose if you own some furnished short term rentals or run a mom and pop “extended stay” hotel?

Sweet Home is probably trying to unload the inventory they bought wholesale to make room for other stuff. M.S.R.P. on Sweet Home’s website for the same drainer in black is $34. It’s currently discounted to $20, and a 15% off coupon takes that down to $17. There are color options, but those cost extra. The Navy one is $54 M.S.R.P., discounted to $28 and the coupon takes it down to $24.65.

The mothership also has the same style of dishrack, unbranded for $20 in a variety of colors. Navy is out of stock though. As nice as it would be to save that extra $3, those of us with prime will probably be better off buying off of the river, and it will be easier to meet free shipping thresholds from the mothership for the rest of us too.

So the problem seems to be that Sweet Home has these navy colored ones overpriced by at least $7.65 relative to their black one, and possibly as much as $30 at their R.R.P. They probably order these in smaller quantities for people who are willing to pay a little extra for style, and when you make something in smaller batches, economies of scale make the per-unit price raise since the process is less efficient.

At some point, you just have to recognize a product isn’t selling and take the loss to make room for inventory that will sell, because over time the floor space is more valuable than the product occupying it, so you want to rotate out old inventory for new. Hence clearance sales, and outlet venues like Woot.

Community classic… I see

We had a topic about the price of these on the everything but woot subforum too if anybody wants to see the opinion of even more wooters. [Disregard: topics merged]

Long story short these work out to $13.87 a piece according to kevinahalleck and I wrote my thoughts about the pricing. Sweet Home charges much more for their colored dish racks than their plain black ones, so they’re probably having difficulty unloading inventory and just want to offload the lot of 'em.

Similar dish racks are sold on the mothership for $20 a pop if you only want one, although they are out of the navy blue color.

Since a good deal of people are probably looking for dish drainers if they’re looking at this thread, I thought I’d mention that today Woot is selling some similar ones in other colors in the $5 to $10 range, and you get an additional 15% off with the SAVE15 code. That means a $5 dish rack is only $4.25! Plus you don’t need to buy 12 of them at once.
