Tactline M1000 Tactical Watch

Tactline M1000 Tactical Watch

Does it really glow in the dark? Or, is shown under an ultra violet light? Do you have to put the watch under a bright light for 10 seconds to view it this brightly for two seconds? And lastly, if I wake up at 4 am and look at my wrist after having being asleep for six hours will I have any hope of seeing what time it is or must I turn the light on first?

Can anybody put a light on this subject or must I be kept hanging in the dark?

There 7s a scammy site called top tactical gear that does the free + shipping promotion. Looks like yhe same watch. I was curious at 40 bicks but I’ve got a bad taste in my mouth over it. I know woot won’t scam me but that original price in particular and otherwise even the 40 bucks I’m not sold on.

Oh well, there are always other sales.

Bought it. Swam with it. Fogged up. Still worked in spite of fogging. Was skeptical. Didn’t have chance to see if hogging was academic: Band flew off while I was putting on knapsack. Next time went swimming w/watch in pocket of board britchesc lost section of band that came unattached. Cannot find replacement band. Help, Woot!???

To quote Neil Young it’s a " piece of crap". Good song too.

Clipping your knife outside your pocket is really all you need to know about this product.

I have one, and I’m pretty happy with it. For $40 I figured it would be a good daily wear watch, and that’s how I’ve been using it. It’s got some good weight to it, the band is comfortable, and it suits my style.

Y121 quartz movement is made by Seiko’s Epson subsidiary for Seiko’s budget watch brands like Pulsar and anyone who wants to buy one. Before the pandemic they were manufactured and assembled in Malaysia, don’t know about now. They are built with Seiko quality control and you can count on them to run 10-15 seconds slow or (more likely) fast per month for you but not your grandchildren, cheap no-jewel movements that start at $4 for one and much cheaper in quantity. That’s the good part. Synthetic sapphire crystal is good too and better than I’d expect in a cheap no-class generic watch. Sapphire is hard and scratch resistant but be aware not smash resistant. But 3 ATM (atmospheres) is the lowest level of water resistance. If you leave it on the bathroom sink while you shower, it is not supposed to fog and likewise spilled drink-proof, but if you’re washing dishes in the sink or caught on the golf course in a thunderstorm you’d better take it off. So it has water resistance like a dress watch but it’s definitely not dress and at 55mm x 46mm it is HUGE like a WW2 Luftwaffe pilot’s watch. And to me it’s very ugly but I guess that’s subjective.

Tactical? There’s NO 24hr numerals. That ain’t tactical, that’s just duuumb!!! Hoo boy…

Oops hit “like” by accident. I don’t. Although, if you don’t care about the lack of a 24hr dial, it probably ok!

It seems to be taking a lot longer to ship than most Woot products.

Hi there. Allow a little extra time due to the holiday weekend. TY.

I did woot! it.

For $40, it’s ok. Sapphire crystal? Probably not, but if it turns out to be, it’s a plus.

Waterproof to any depth? Probably not, it does NOT have a screw down crown. Anything more than a shower/splash will probably cause fogging.

Digital readout is impossible to read at arms length, barely readable with the watch squarely in front of your face with 2.75 readers on.

The digital time is set separate from the analog hands, getting them to sync up is nearly impossible.

Alarm? I accidentally set the alarm on while setting the time. A barely audible beep can only be heard in a dead quiet room.

As with all my knock around/work watches, I immediately replace the silicone/rubber band with a nylon NATO. $10 from Amazon. It’s 24mm if you’re interested.

Am I happy with the watch? Yes, I wear it almost everyday to work (in a warehouse). It’s gotten banged around and keeps ticking. The crystal hasn’t scratched. I can see the analog time at arms length. I don’t care about the lum, as it doesn’t last more than a few minutes. Would I buy it again? No. Because for this money there will be other watches to fill this need.

A solid 3.5/5 …
