Tango Chile Truffle Hot Sauce, 2-Pack

Truffles are pretty far down on the list of ingredients for this to be labeled as a “truffle” hot sauce.

This is one of those moments where I wish I could sample the item.
Truffles and hot sauce together don’t make sense to me. I can’t imagine the truffle flavor coming through, unless the sauce isn’t hot at all.
I have never tasted a truffle oil or “flavoring” that I like.

There’s another popular brand called TRUFF that has two versions with one being hotter than the other. It’s definitely got a lot more depth of flavor than a traditional hot sauce, but even the hotter version won’t really do it for any serious chili heads. I think you would end up overpowering the truffle if you tried to add reaper, habanero, scorpion, etc.

“Truffle Flavoring” doesn’t necessarily mean that Truffles are used. But, I guess it’s the creator’s justification for charging $14 for an 8 oz bottle.

Just another ridiculous item in this Woot Category, imo.
