I am guessing I should be measuring around the knee at the middle of the knee cap?

I’d just go to the local store and get an adjustable one. Never had much luck getting a fixed support fitted just right, and then there are those days where extra tight = more relief.

Having tried a few different brands now I agree with that for the most part.
The best brace I’ve owned was one that you wrap on yourself every day with three velcro straps. The ones you pull over never seem to fit right in every place.
If you do really have a reason you prefer the pull on, I still recommend only buying brands you’ve used before online as the fit is so important for quality support.
