Timex Automatic Men's Leather Watch

Timex Automatic Men's Leather Watch

The reviews/ratings for this item seem to direct to a pair of socks, judging by the review content. Both from the app and website.

That’s because those actually ARE socks. Let me get with the team to fix.

Lol
I mean, socks are good and I kinda need some, but was definitely looking for watches.
If you’re able, ping this thread when it’s updated?
Thanks for looking into this.

This is an old Timex Waterbury mechanical wristwatch, so old it’s not on Timex’s web site as a discontinued model, but it’s 21st century production and not collectible. 1970s retro look which is nice I guess if you don’t have bad memories from that dark era. I’m guessing the original list price was $189. 40mm steel case, 20mm standard strap lugs, flat mineral glass crystal, mineral glass case back so you can observe the mechanical movement (something you will do perhaps once). Movement is Miyota 8205, rated –20~+40 sec/day by Miyota. It’s a budget automatic movement which hand winds and hacks, but the indirectly driven seconds hand suffers from “Miyota stutter.” If you give this watch a good thump, the seconds hand will freeze for one second and then jump ahead two seconds to catch up. The strap is imitation alligator but I’ve seen worse and you might wear it if you’re not fussy. It’s easy enough to replace with another strap or a bracelet. 50 meter water resistance means it’s a good quality dress watch which cannot be worn in any activity where you might be submerged in water, e.g. rowing, canoeing, pushed into the pool etc. To me it is not a compelling buy at this price but it’s not a terrible buy. I own Timex watches but I’m not a Timex collector.
