Treadly World's Thinnest Treadmill

Treadly World's Thinnest Treadmill

“To reach a maximum speed of 5 mph, simply lift the handle, or go hands-free at a steady 3.8 mph pace.”

So the fastest you can run on this is 5 mph (12 min/mile)? Or am I interpreting that wrong?

I was wondering the same thing! I’m no speed demon, but I would need to go more than 5 mph, and any serious runner would demand that ability.

Double checked the Treadly site. Speed is 0-5mph.

Funny, I actually saw this at the Canton Fair (in Guangzhou) when it first came out. It’s actually pretty cool BUT the speed limitations are hard limits. Basically with the protective hand rail down you are limited to 3.8 MPH and with it up you can go up to 5 MPH which really isn’t fast at all but it sure beats sitting around. Operation is fairly intuitive, you just get on and start walking and the sensors can tell if you are picking up the pace or slowing down, just avoid jarring movements. Otherwise the treadmill is exactly as it looks like and works fairly well given the speed limitations.

Yep, that is a 220lb limit which they’re serious about. With a 5mph limit, you’d expect the weight limit to be a tad higher.

Took a little look around about this as my daughter is looking for a treadmill.

Found this write-up here, and there is a comment about overheating if used on carpet, fwiw:

The deck is much too short for running. This would be alright for fast walking, but unless your running stride is very short, forget about running. I had a short deck (45") treadmill before I replaced it with a Proform (55"), and the short deck was impossible to run on. And I am only 5’4".

Why has no one asked the key question- how on earth is she getting that much lift during a 12:00 mile (that’s assuming she’s going all the way at 5 mph)

I agree completely, which is why I asked about the speed limit. That image is misleading! This is more for walkers, not runners.

Funny, I wouldn’t need to buy the product if I was sub-220.
