Could easily give meaning to the new phrase “tread-mill rash”. I’m tempted to try repairing my shoe soles, see if I can get better grip and traction…
Just “Wow” - thanks for that image!! So many opportunities for accidental acupuncture, lawn aeration, kicking sod into place without having to bend down. I’m going to go open a book to a random page & let the brain spin down now.
Does anyone know if this will work in a shower? I have used stuff from a big box store and it keeps peeling up. Yes, I do clean the floor very well before I install it.
There are other versions that would likely do better in a shower - The specific grit of these tread tapes are perhaps a decent fit for many outdoor applications, but that extreme grit may be too rough for a bathroom/tub/shower, in my opinion. Similarly, they seem to be designed for “dry” use, with only occasional exposure to moisture or spills, so I do not know how well they would hold up in such a wet location.
I got a similar set for a tub several years ago that was visually less obtrusive, and did a great job - Just a generic ‘mazon search for “adhesive shower grip” ought to do.
am wondering about (somewhat decaying) wood stairs and whether this might work. I tried another brand last year and did not last very long…
Mix some sand in with some paint and just paint the stairs with that. The tape I’ve tried (might not be this brand) peels up after it gets wet a few times.
thanks for the suggestion!
If you can find some glass beads (like they use in lane-marker paint) you can get traction AND reflective enhancement (for when you use a flashlight on the slippery stuff)!
I think there may be a trick to getting the best light-return - lightly wipe the surface with a solvent rag to take the least bit of paint off the glass beads.
