What is the actual clamping voltage?
It has a 650-joule surge suppression rating. I suppose you’ll have to contact Tripp Lite for technical questions.
This ain’t Circuit City around here. Lol
If it doesn’t clamp until like 6000 or something your stuff is fried regardless of how awesome the suppression is. Wish more consumers knew that clamping voltage is massively important and that companies actually disclosed it without an investigation.
Yeah, I knew what you were talking about.
I think a 650-joule surge suppression rating is low, isn’t it?
Yeah 650 is pretty crappy
Manufacturer specs link…
… which says absolutely nothing about clamping voltage. The surge suppression section is rather sparse.
(Note that I am not staff. I just volunteer to help out on the forums.)
I’ve given poor reviews for some so-called surge protectors before. 800V clamping voltage – anything connected to it will pretty much be zapped dead well before any protection kicks in.
