Note that Lockpicking Lawyer has a Couple of videos about (2 links) on the UltraLoq series. Consensus? Surprisingly competent, but with a (admittedly bump-resistant) Kwikset Core with no security pins (vulnerable to raking). The core can be very easily replaced with a proper security core (or be re-pinned with security pins for dirt cheap), and with that replacement it’s a very competent smart lock for the price point.

I have this lock and I’m fairly happy with it. The main drawback with it is that is does not have a door open sensor. That is only included with the newer versions of this lock and can’t be bought separately. The problem with that is that the autolock feature will try to lock even if the door is ajar.

There is a good reason why Amazon is trying to dump these locks to wit: “U-tec’s upgraded smart lock is easier to install and works like a dream, but its Wi-Fi implementation is problematic at best.” Please see the following review: Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro WiFi review: A smart lock with a healthy facelift | TechHive

Thank you for the upgrade info
