Got this last woot and so far very happy with the image quality for the price. I hooked up a soundbar with a bluetooth transmitter via 3.5mm jack and works well. This is my first projector.

I got this projector from an earlier woot. For the price the picture quality, brightness, color and contrast are excellent. Blows my similarly priced Chinese projectors away in every way. I highly recommend it you want something decent enough but spending a fortune. I have milld amount of daylight coming in through windows and some dimer ambient lighting around and can see the picture fine. It’s not as bright as some pricier ones that state high lumens, but it’s probably equivalent to my 1000-1400 lumen ones from the past but just eyeball guessing. It does blow got air out of the left side though and only had analog focus and keystone, but if you can be mostly lined up straight, you can avoid a lot of edge blur. Don’t count on the keystone correction being anything special.

What’s the input latency like? Would this work as a computer monitor/for gaming? Or is there too much delay?

Pretty sure I bought this almost a year ago off amazon for roughly the same price. I wanted to upgrade from a 720P.

It is a good unit that can achieve 1080P, but of course lacks many of the bells and whistles of more expensive units. The keystone correction is extremely limited (which is the case for many of these low end projectors), and lighting is nowhere near what they state (or they use language aimed at tricking people about how bright it is).

Even with all that, it is a good 1080P budget projector for someone not interested in dropped 600-1,000+ on a more upscale projector.

Also another one who picked this up a few months back. We are using is as a patio projector for movie night with the kids. It is more than bright enough for that purpose. Keystone…yeah…it is adjustable, but limited. I can only compare to the projectors used at work…and this is no where near that level, but also no where near that price point.

  • decent brightness for use after sunset
  • sound is even “acceptable” with the built-in speaker

We plug in a set of computer speakers, hang a white sheet on the chimney, make some fresh popcorn, light up the fire pit, and enjoy a Saturday night on the patio with the kids.

If you are expecting this to be a fantastic deal, super uber great picture, and works well at 20’ in a lit room…look elsewhere. You want an entry level projector for occasional use that works “well enough” for casual use, this is perfect.

I bought this on Amazon for a similar price. It’s a good projector, but if you’re planning on mounting it anywhere but straight dead-on to your intended screen, look elsewhere. I mounted mine from the ceiling, and the keystone does NOT correct for focus. This means that if your projector is at an angle relative to your screen, you can only focus one portion of the image (top, middle, or bottom). It’s impossible to get the full image in focus.

Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you.

I have mine connected to a FireStick 4k and only use it for media streaming where a few ms latency isn’t the difference between life and death.

When connected with 3.5mm audio cable to my speaker or ble apt-x low latency dongle (or from firestick to another low latency audio dongle) do not show any delay in mouth sync and audio, but then again, that’s not input latency in respect to gaming.

Here’s an actual review that give the lumens (4,000) instead of the misleading lux. I doubt its really that high, but it is very bright for a discount projector, and, as long as your expectations and use are reasonable, this is a lot of bang for the bucks.

I bought this last time and used it a few times since. Overall like others said, picture quality is great for the price. Some slight blur on fast moving images, but that’s typical with most projectors. Only knock I have is the fan is a bit loud, but once you have the movie going you dont notice all that much.

One tip/trick I have. The only audio output this has is the aux out. I found a work around to use HDMI ARC. My soundbar has an HDMI ARC in and out on it. When if you connect the projector to the HDMI output on the soundbar, the sound will come through both the projector and the soundbar, but if you then connect an aux cable to the audio output on the projector (not connected to anything else) the sound will just come through the soundbar. A good way to get digital surround sound audio while using the projector.

Yeah, there’s no way this thing is 4000 lumens, At this price point (or even the new price point of $200), you’d be lucky to get 200 lumens – 100 is more likely.

Burned out a bulb in my current projector. This is good time to replace it and go to 1080P. We will see if this is a POS or great deal. Either way, 30 day woot! return policy now makes this a no-brainer.

A very well done video review. It is amazing how affordable good enough projectors have gotten over the years.
