We were thinking about building some raised beds or planters.
Anyone have one of these? We were wondering how well they are built.
Seems like the shelf would take a beating and rot quickly from water dripping down after each watering. Unless you painted a thick sealer on it. Actually a sealer would be good for the entire thing. The sides and slats on the planter will rot quickly due to moisture.
Here’s some videos from someone who has one. She shows how to assemble it and gives a few updates. Youtube is a great resource for honest reviews.
Dang, woot volunteer mods don’t get the employee discount for their services?
Also:
It says food grade stain in the description. I’m assuming that is for the Grey and sage? And the “natural” is just raw cedar? Or is the “natural” one stained as well?
I’m not sure. It was hard to tell from the description but it may have a clear sealant on it.
That is the employee discount.

Thanks @pepper114.
We were going to build one from scratch.
We are going to watch the videos before making a decision.
They are built for herbs. They are not deep enough for most vegetables.
We wanted to use this to start vegetable, herb, and fruit plants.
Hopefully, they will be suited for that.
We were planning to transplant the plants to large planters and pots once they were healthy and larger enough to be transplanted.
We were hoping to save our backs and knees a little from the strain and pain.
“Herbs”
Will there be more of these? My mom would like to have one, too.
I hoped that I would see these on woot again…
