velolink Switch 2 Dock

velolink Switch 2 Dock

What’s the difference between model 1, 2 and 3? Are they all for switch 2 or ?

They appear to be duplicates of the “Select Color” drop-downs with each equivalent to one of the three color choices.

Sorry for the confusion. I removed that drop down.

Nintendo just pushed a firmware update that blocks docks like this. I have one, and it doesn’t work after the update.

i bought one and now it’s useless… :sob:
well, i guess it still works for my steam deck

On the main Amazon product page the manufacturer has a notice about it no longer working with 21.0.0. They have a fix but it involves contacting them via after-sales support. Does anyone know how to reach them for support for purchases from here?

I bought mine from Amazon and contacted them about it a few hours ago, no response yet.

It’s a company based in China so not surprised about the no response. I actually just got a reply from them a few minutes ago and they are working on getting the update software and instructions sent to my email.

So hopefully you get a response soon.

hopefully the amazon page gets updated with links to the updated firmware and stuff, but in case it isn’t could you post them here when you get them?

Nintendo: “We see that you are having fun. Now you are not.”

The velo link is when you ride your bike to your buddy’s house to play SNES.

It took a hot minute as they had issues sending me an email it just wouldn’t go through. However they were able to provide me with a website link that contained a zip with the update and instructions. I looked at the Woot rules and think I can post the link? If not a mod can remove it.

Going to the link and clicking on Download firmware will download a zip file that contains the update file and a PDF tutorial on how to do the update. It’s a pretty simple process, was able to update it on my end and can now confirm that it works with Switch 2 system version 21.0.0.

much appreciated!! :w_happy2: not a fan of running random sketchy exe’s but it’s good to hear it worked for you, will have to try it myself soon.

I honestly felt the same way, made sure to run an anti-virus on it and kept an eye on my system. I am somewhat used to it from having to update firmware on some custom keyboards that are based in China. Also deleted the files after I was done. There are safer ways of doing it like using a virtual machine or a closed system laptop/PC if you are worried about it and have the knowledge to do so.

In any case it works for now and will keep an eye on things, maybe someone else with more technical knowledge can asses if it’s absolutely safe and there isn’t any funny business happening in the background.

completely forgot to post an update, lol. ran the firmware updater without problem (doesn’t seem malicious, just a bit confusing since it only displays chinese text) and can also confirm it works on my switch 2 now running the latest update.
