Why doesn’t anyone make automatic record changers anymore? That was one of the things we loved about record players when we were kids in the 50’s. We could put several records on the player (normally 45’s but also the other speeds) and when the record finished, the next record dropped down so there was continuous play until all the records played and it would shut off automatically when the last record finished. Also, why are cloths to clean the records not sold online?
Thanks,
Jeanne

Maybe @daveinwarshington would chime in and answer your questions if they know
I am curious as to how people like this player
In the last picture of the series, I noticed that one of the records on the floor is The Cars 1978 debut. It’s not the cover showing but the inner sleeve with a collage of smaller pics.
The fact that The Cars made it into a Woot! ad puts a smile on my face! Thanks Woot!
My friends daughter has one and loves it. Sometimes I think she is playing music off of her phone. I didn’t know the speakers were built in until I just read it in the description. I think sound us great. She has had hers for a little over a year.
Great to know - thank you!
I use a brush like this, clean every side of every record before playing it!
It increases the life of the vinyl & the needle.

I have an old phonograph that you can stack 78’s on it and it drops them to play, it’s not good for the record to drop as it gets up to platter speed.
45’s are a bit different, designed with a bit of a raised edge so they can be stacked, which is good as each side of the record only is one song.
If you’re playing an LP record for the musical quality, I’d never stack them or have a player that drops them on top of each other. First, the needle tracking would change with each record of different heights, also they are likely to be damaged by any dust between the records.
If I wanted to play extended times of music, I’d stream music online.
I just bought a ‘semi-auto’ Thorens turntable that lifts the needle at the end of the record and turns it off. I can still have a high quality cartridge using this and still not worry about it continually running if I fall asleep…
Thanks @daveinwarshington
I am going to pick up a brush - do you have a recommendation?
If I read this right, the Bluetooth capability on this is for streaming music TO the player so you can use it’s speakers. Does it have capability to stream Bluetooth FROM the player to an external speaker. The only mention of external speakers (if I’m reading it right) is a RCA jack connection. Can I use this to stream to a better speaker than the internal one?
The bluetooth is one way, streaming to the record player speakers only. If your bluetooth speaker has a line-in jack, you can use it as an external speaker for the record player, but from what I’ve read, you still don’t get much bass at all. The EQ is probably permanently tuned to the internal speakers with their lack of low-end, so you’d just wind up with louder, possibly somewhat better sound with external speakers, but still lacking bass.
I would snatch this up in a minute if it was truly portable, as in it has an internal rechargeable battery.
The one (or one like it) that I listed in my earlier post should work great.
I also wash my records when I buy used ones and any record that is noisy, but that’s a whole different thing.

Woot has sold these in the past.
Sorry, totally missed the link you posted the 1st time! Thank you
The record washer is like the machine our local DVD/bluray rental place (when there was such a thing) had to resurface/clean those
Good question! I would love one that streams to speakers
Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of the analog player? If you just want to stream digital music to a speaker there are way better options to do that.
Hi there. There’s not a lot of info on these but when I’ve looked at other Victrolas, it’s only to their speakers and not out to others.
My thought was that it would amplify the sound of the vinyl - isn’t that essentially what DJs due?
To be honest the sound quality could be a lot better. It lacks bass and when connecting an external speaker through the headphones jack it just sounds louder but the bass is still is weak due to protecting people’s ears if they using actual headphones instead of an external speaker. But for this price who can complain?
Sad this Cobalt Blue model never made it to me and I was issued a refund. I quickly received the American Flag style and was interested in seeing how the blue model looked.
