ViewSonic gTablet 10.1" Multi-touch Tablet

Doesn’t PlayOn only work if your inside your house or connected to the same router as the computer with PlayOn installed?

One port is a client, the other is a host.

Got one last time and flashed it to Vegan Tab 5.1, but I’m still not getting full access to the Android Market. I have numerous Market apps on my phone that I can’t find on the Market accessing it through my g Tablet. Anyone else noticed this or have a solution?

This should do you: [STICKY][FIX] Full market (improved market fix) on G Tablet | XDA Forums

Also, if you have an android phone, you can backup your app’s using a file browser like Astro, and it’ll put them back into APK’s. If you have something like say, drop box, you can put the files there, get them using drop box on your tablet, install, and you’re rockin’ and rollin’!

If you soft-brick it, you could recover from the SD card.

When it boots, it looks first to the SD card and can re-flash the ROM from there. So even if you bricked it to the point that it wasn’t bootable of internal memory you could still recover from the SD.
its also pretty easy to use nvflash to get back to the stock built ROM. there are a couple tricks, all described on XDA, that you can do to “unbrick” your tablet if you get to that point.

i rooted mine, when i got it from Woot and i was stuck in an endless bootloop and thought i just created myself a paper weight. but you arm yourself with the information on XDA and you’ll get through anything you may have done wrong in rooting this tablet.

It happened to me once. I should have played every lottery available to me that week.

When you first set up the mobile PlayOn app you must be connected to the same router as the computer with PlayOn. That’s how it verifies that you have a paid up PlayOn membership or subscription or whatever. After that, as long as you’ve got enough upstream bandwidth on your home internet connection, and enough downstream bandwidth on whatever connection your tablet or phone is using, you can be anywhere. I’ve watched a full episode of Party Down through Netflix via 3G on my Samsung Epic. The gTablet doesn’t have cellular internet, so your remote viewing options will be more limited, but it should be possible.

I’ve really had it up to here with woot!

I wanted to buy one of these, and Woot! refuses to sell me one. I’m ready to hand over the price for one, but will they sell it? No!

I feel like every damn time I want to buy something from this site, it’s a headache, and gets me nothing but aggravation. This is not the first time I’ve run into issues where I’ve wanted to buy something that they clearly have stock of, but refuse to sell.

I think I’m done with this site. I’ll go to a store that actually runs with a business model that makes sense, offer items for sell that people want, let them buy them when they want them, and no games by tricking people into thinking they’re special when they get to buy whats out back in the dumpster.

It’s available for $299 with free shipping (only $15 more than here). Buy.com or CompUsa.
hummm, I couldn’t stop myself from buying one… I saw my hands moving to the mouse and clicking I want one while thinking what do I need another computer for?

does anyone know if you can use a USB harddrive with this? I guess I should have asked before I bought it, but my zombie like reflexes wouldn’t let me.
Maybe it’s too late for me to reply you, but yes, it is capable to read usb drive I attached.

I bought a g-tab from woot, but have decided to sell it because I found another computer I would rather buy. The g-tab has never been opened and is brand new. I also bought a Skinomi TechSkin - Black Carbon Fiber FILM Shield & Screen Protector for Viewsonic G Tablet + LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS that also has never been opened. You can read about it on their web site Shinomi.com I will sell both for $309. If you are interested you can e-mail me at: stans39@yahoo.com

I bought mine in the first batch too. I love it. I have Vegan Tab on mine and love it. Flash videos play excellent. All I need is a good video player. Real Player is very good, but it does not play the divx with mp3. If anyone knows of a good player, let me know. Make sure you new guys head over to

and put a good system on yours.

Thanks much roebeet. You are the greatest.

Yes. I have Kindle and Nook apps on here as well as Comics a comic book reader and others. If you just figure the cost of a Nook color and a Kindle, you MAKE money on this deal.
Where did you find the Nook app? I bought the Gtab from Woot the last time it was available and searched in vain for the Nook app?

Thanks

(im)patiently waiting for mine. In the meantime I’m slogging through reams of info on the different ROMs.

One thing I can’t seem to easily turn up yet is whether any of them support bluetooth tethering (DUN). Right now I use my cell as a modem for my Macbook when I am out of WiFi range. Do any of the custom gTab ROMs support this?

VEGAn tab Ginger Edition is installed, and running beautifully.

I just haven’t used it at all… and I know I’m not going to. Stupidd impulse buys :frowning:

I bought mine and installed Vegan tab Froyo but I realized that as a college student I don’t have much time to be playing around with this thing. So I’m in the market to SELL mine. I bought and installed the Skinomi carbon fiber skin that come with lifetime replacements policy and it looks great.(pics on request)

Please give this GTAB a good home!
I have the original box and the skinomi packaging too.
