Great deal here, people. I commented on a previous listing for a 5200, that it was not worth the discount to lose the 7-year warranty.
Well, here ya go. Happy New Year from Woot! to us.
Thanks for the info
A lot of merchandise gets labeled “professional” and in fact is nothing more than regular retail grade stuff with a much higher price. This is NOT the case with Vitamix. These Blenders are the best, built like tanks and are able to do things better than any other blender I had ever owned. However, I am not interested in this deal because I already own a Vitamix and I expect it will out-live me. But thanks Woot! for offering this great deal.
Chiming in on the Kudos for Vitamix blenders.
We had gone thru several other brands, admittedly not with Vitamix prices… and I finally grew tired of complaints from my family that none of them worked well.
Finally broke down and spent $300 for that “$100 off $400” Vitamix deal Costco ran during the holidays. (Looks like the Costco one is “1400 watts” vs this Woot deal “1440 watts”. Can’t imagine that being noticeable in the real world.)
Wow, not only does it sound more refined… all the family complaints (at least the blender ones!) went quiet!
Bonus: not only does it have a 7-year warranty, but it is also assembled in the the USA, by a USA company!
(But take care of that blender pitcher and blades! - Vitamix only believes its commercial customers are capable of using a socket wrench to replace the blade assembly. They require “home” customers to buy the full, very expensive new container with new blade assembly. Aftermarket reasonably priced blade assemblies are available but can’t speak for their quality, although the reviews seem positive.)
Have wanted one for decades.
Searched recent prices and reviews. Found QVC had a deal that was better than this last month for 1 day.
For those who are getting in on this offer, a few people rec getting the 32 oz wet canister as well. Seems the “squatty” shape of this 64 oz one means you need to have more volume per use to be sure the blades are submerged as it’s spinning. If not, you wont get the vortex and may mess up the machine.
Having the 32 oz one will allow a small serving (4 oz) of dressing, nut butter, etc and a single smoothie.
FYI, bought the 750 Pro here and researched the alternatives to make smaller amounts.
Found that Vitamix has regular sales every 3-4 months and drops the price for their cannisters to $99.
If you sign up for their newsletter, they will send out a coupon for $25 off your first purchase. That would make a 32 oz wet or dry cannister with blades $75.
Not too bad.
Yah, thanks, I too signed up. I also had a mostly unconstructive dialog with Vitamix Customer Support about them pulling the blades only part from Consumer use. Went pretty much nowhere. Clearly, in spite of their claims it is a safety issue, it is actually a profit improvement program. As usual, when a company abuses parts prices, the aftermarket gladly obliges with very reasonably priced blade assemblies. Mother Amazon is your friend.
FYI, subject to abuse, they claim the container is covered under the 7-year warranty. But wanna bet dull blades from typical use are not covered?
The Vitamix site is also pretty poor for zeroing in on the containers that match a specific model - you gotta page thru many pages.
I’m still evolving my thoughts about parts and accessories.
For the 750, need a small batch container.
Now looking at the stainless steel on sale for$154 on Amazon. (Best $ I found this week)
My rational is that it will not leach plastic stuff into food, won’t discolor, makes foods just a little quicker and keeps hot foods hot & cold foods cold noticeably longer, dishwasher safe (but the marking will fade), cleans easier, no lingering odors (garlic!), wont chip or crack, comes with a tamper (the 32oz ones don’t), is quieter from 1-7, louder from 8-10, probably will last longer and may look better.
It’s about 3.75 lbs, but can deal with that.
There have been freq production/finnishing issues folks have complaints about.
Rough edges at top and bottom edges are common. (I plan to file)
Weld that attached hollow handle can have a gap and allow water inside/rust issue. (if small, will putty)
Finish on the inside can vary. If it’s not completely smooth, will return/replace.
FYI, Vitamix rec to never store the container in the fridge. The moisture will mess up the blade assembly.
FYI, Vita mix now sells the Ascent (all digital, what could go wrong?) series A3500 ($800) with the 48oz stainless steel as the only container. Many who purchased the stainless have said it became their primary and retired or sold their other one(s) to offset the $ of the stainless.
One last thing, some have found their vitas have a vibration (esp with small batches) that can cause the base to move across their counters. (not level?) The weight of the stainless seems to help with that issue.
