'ppreciate that link there!

Is this much better than a cell phone camera?

I’m tempted… has anyone found the physical dimensions? Looks like 2" * 4" *1.5". The smaller the better.

2MP? I thought these went out in 2002 or so.

Talk about a throwaway camera. Guess these would be good to put into the glove box to use for an accident, where all the insurance companies say to take pictures of the scene if you can. In fact, CSAA here in California sells members an accident kit that includes a disposable film camera.

This is truly a toss into a whatever and use it as an emergency camera. Or I guess if you want to give a child under 10 his or her first camera, this would be a good one. Drop it into a swimming pool, who cares. [Make sure to dry out the SD card though since that can be used again, most likely.]

I guess the only thing I am wondering, where the heck did Woot find these things.

Bonus Tip: Woot should really price these things closer to what they paid for them rather than trying to make a killing. Making a $5 gross profit on each should be sufficient. Sell em for $5.10, might be able to sell more.

I think its cheaper than that Fisher Price camera, though likely not as rugged.

Yeah, but for my 5 and 3 year old it should do the job. Hell, the first digital camera they ever broke was a 2.5 mp that cost us almost $200, it’ll be just like old times…

Unfortunately the person’s pics are no longer available.

Not if you use a SD card.

Nevermind. Found it, I’m a goof.
3.9” x 2.3” x 1.2”

The LCD is status screen only, no viewfinder. Still, at this price it’s a great stocking stuffer for friends and family who don’t yet have a digital camera, or for the younger ones as an introduction into digital photography.

Considering that Polaroid is doing away with their instant film and cameras (cameras are done, film production stops later this year with just enough stock to carry through through FY 2009), this is a very affordable replacement, they can take their cards into Wal-Mart, Walgreens or any other 1-hour digital development shop and have their pics right back.

My phone takes 3 MP pictures.

I nominate this:

GARBAGE.

When I was 14, I bought my first digital camera…
It was a Sony cybershot with 2MP that cost me $220 of hard earned lawnmowing money.
Now, 7 years later, there’s a 2MP on woot for 20 shipped…I want to cry.
[/quote]
A. 7 years is a long time.
B. I’m sure the cypershot photos are 10x better than these.

Oh, and for the guy that asked, the dimensions are 3.9” x 2.3” x 1.2”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

OMG, I can’t believe they are selling these. Sorry Woot I just can’t buy this crap. Doesn’t this qualify for a nomination of the worst woot of the year?

Oh yeah? Well my phone doesn’t take pictures at ALL. That’s right, I’m straight old school…

My wife has been wanting to get a cheep camera for our 4 year old son, who LOVES taking pictures with my expensive SLR. This is PERFECT!

Wal*lyMarket has a 3MP for 14 bucks…

Have fun giving them your money… sadist.

Remember folks, it isn’t always about MP, but how the pixels are used. All that high MP means is that there are more pixels, and therefore it’ll be a bigger picture. Unless you’re making 2’x2’ prints (and I know none of you are) this won’t be very useful. This camera takes stills in 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 which to me are pretty decent resolutions. Sounds like it might be okay to me.

20 dollars - cheap camera
going to the grocery store - 78 dollars
getting hit and having proof - priceless.

although…i use a disposable camera i payed one dollar for.

think of it this way though if you get this you can use it more than a disposable camera…you wont get the print resolution but who buys those things for super sharp images anyway?

FAIL!

This is a toy…

These days 2mp isn’t even all that great for a cellphone…

-_-

If you need to replace that Polariod in your trunk (seeing as they don’t make film anymore) go ahead, but for the most part this is utter suck…

Focus Length – F=9.0mm

Capture Range – 1.6ft ~ Infinity

This is probably supposed to be:

Focal Length – F=9.0mm

Focus Range – 1.6ft ~ Infinity

Also, the focal length is totally useless if you don’t know the size of the sensor…
