I went ahead and got the 12-holder. I can always do I use half and gift the other half to my niece who seems to have a new Stanley tumbler every time I go there.

I have a mug organizer. It’s full of Woot Krampus mugs.
How do you know when insulated drinking vessels have gotten out of hand?
Well, regular drinking glasses are sold in sets of 8. Insulated tumblers are typically sold individually or in pairs.
But when was the last time you used all 8 of your glasses? Christmas?
And if it was Christmas, why weren’t you using the set of moose mugs? Weren’t your guests good enough for those? Did you really make Aunt Susan drink from the Smurf glass that came free with a Big Mac back in 1980?

While you may not use all eight mugs at once, depending on how often you do dishes, you may use them all before you do the dishes.
Now tell me how many people even own 12 water bottles, much less use them all.
I wash my dishes after every use. That has no bearing on the quantity of dishes I own.
If you have 8 mugs and 12 water bottles, and wait until all 8 mugs are dirty before you wash dishes, assuming everything else is equal, then you’d only have 4 available water bottles left. If you also have 4 people in your household using water bottles at the same time, you’ll need more water bottles and mugs. Better get the organizers to keep track of them all.
