I have this machine.
I’ve never found a use for the roller support on the table, and the laser isn’t accurate enough to be useful (and I’ve never bothered to try to tweak its aim).
Everything else about the machine is actually really good. After having used a CVT in a Powermatic drill press a few years back, I promised myself if I bought a drill press for myself, it would have that feature. I was surprised to find it in a compact low-price machine like this. I will definitely not go back to traditional belts and pulleys again.
Seems solidly built, feels like any other drill press I’ve used. No problems with run-out or play in the spindle or chuck. Overall very happy with it.
I saw this and planned to write a verbatim post, well said!!
Ditto here. I bought this a couple of months ago, and my experience is the same. A solid machine, well worth the price.
My laser was spot-on, but I always line up the bit the old-fashioned way, so not much use. I had a 1½" bit on yesterday and the bit blocked the laser, anyway!
I found the laser really easy to line up, took me no time at all. I also haven’t used the roller that this has, but its good to have the option.
