Highly rated drill press, but used to be $130-150 sale price, now they are $300-400. This might be the scarcity or might be the new normal pricing.
I would love to get another press bu this is too pricy for me. Bought a Harbor Freight garbage one about 10 years ago and the vibration at the chuck made it impossible to precision drill anything. Sold it at my garage sale.
The price is hard to stomach, but it’s a solid drill press. Harbor freight has a 10 inch model on sale currently for 70~ but the WEN 12 inch here is reliable, provided it’s well situated and taken care of.

Are you thinking of this model? I thought of it first given the price
All the detailed specs I can find on the 4214 say it has a 5/8" keyed chuck. Description here says 1/2". Can anyone clarify is this an error in Woot’s specs, or a special packaging of the 4214 for Woot?
Hi there. Thanks for the call out. 5/8" is correct.
I received mine yesterday and assembled it today. It is definitely a ⅝-inch chuck. Overall, I am very pleased with it. It appears to be solid – I detect no spindle play, no backlash to any of the adjustments, etc. and all movements are smooth. I have drilled a total of one (1) hole so far, just to test it. I’ll check back in if I encounter any issues.
There is one amazingly puzzling thing: The specs from WEN say it weighs in at 85 pounds, the specs here at Woot! say its net wt. is 95 pounds, and the gross weight measured by USP when they delivered it was a little over 70 pounds. I lifted the box and I’m pretty sure the UPS figure is correct. Why the disparity?
Yeah, looks like both WEN & Amazon say 85. Not sure where our 95 came from. I emailed the tools team to update our listing for future.
Can’t comment on the UPS weight difference.
i can report hella packaging
