I bought this two generations ago, 2000 Watt and I believe a bit more expensive. Anyway, it has been a great generator for its use. Sips gas and very quiet. Got us through the Houston freeze last year when we had no power or water. Two of these with the parallel kit would easily run a camper and not shake your teeth out. Also, looks like this one has fuel cut-off. Drains the carb. Great option for an entry level generator.

First thing - this is a GREAT deal as this inverter goes for $429 directly from Wen, and today’s Woot price is even cheaper than the sale price Wen occasionally has (which up until now has been the best price I could find). Here’s their site:

I own this exact model and it has been very handy to have around the house. It is a good size for taking along to anywhere we might need power (39 lbs) and the inverter provides clean enough power to run electronics like a TV or computer. It is also very quiet, especially when using the low-power mode. The best feature I like about it is the fuel shut-off - it has a position on the main dial that shuts off the fuel but keeps the motor running until the carb runs dry. This is great for storage.

Here’s a few tips.

  1. A simple electronic hour meter is only a few dollars and easy to install with only one wire. It will help you track usage.
  2. When you get it, you must add the provided oil and run it for at least an hour or more for break-in, then change the oil right away. This will help flush out any tiny debris that might end up in the oil and help seat the cylinder rings. And,
  3. A magnetic dipstick is only $10-12 on the mother ship and is cheap insurance to help keep your oil just a bit cleaner.

Does the model have a gas gauge? Can’t tell from photos.

I did a search for “gauge” in the linked User Manual and nothing came up about one so I’m going with no.

This unit does not have a gas gauge… Wen model 2250 has the gas gauge …
