We āover-boughtā blueberry bushes, thereās 14.
Half of them were over 40 yrs old when we planted them 35 yrs ago, from a blueberry farm that was sold. We could only fit 2 at a time in a full-size pickup with the tailgate openā¦
Soā¦ we have a lot of blueberries.
We do jam, pies, cobblers, ice cream topping, pancakes, in salads, so many thingsā¦

Due to coyotes and bobcats, we have had to keep our chickens in their coops/runs. As a result, we have unexpected food crops growing outside of the run (they couldnāt get to the young plants and destroy them). We have unexpected grape tomatoes and tomatillos (see pics) and a jalapeno plant. Yay? This is what happens when your son gives the birds leftover saladā¦

Last year, I dug out my old containers (big olā square oversized flower pots, really) and planted two different types of tomatoes, two seeds in each pot. They grew & produced considerably more than I expected them to. Lots more work than I expected for 4 lousy pots! 
This year, I opted not to plant anything. Older and more debilitated, I knew I couldnāt do the work. 
HELLO!! Two tomato plants decided to grow in one pot! One got killed by the heat last week, the other is now 6 feet tall and Iāve picked 9 tomatoes off it, with another 6 on the plant Iām watching grow.
I did nothing to deserve these tomatoes, (besides water them) but Iām grateful for them. Yes, nature IS a wonder!

I have harvested the onions. These are doing their final dry-out after being topped. Sweet Walla-Walla, you make me so happy!

And might I add that the tomatoes are being eaten as fast as they are picked! August is my canning season and the fear is real that it will not be.

I m on vaca at brewster, cape cod mass, brought some of my home grown tn toms with meā¦passed an organic veggie homeowner selling veggiesā¦got local zuchs, squash, green bells, and cukes 4 $10. Been a lot of work fixing up the house after 3 yrs vacantā¦but just so happy 2 b here.
