When we get our BOC we take what we want, see if any of our friends/co-workers want anything, and store the rest for Halloween.
We live next a university and every Halloween we get a bunch of students trick or treating.
We give them candy like any other trick or treaters, but we also give them one random piece of crap.
The students love it because they get an funny story (and they still get free candy).
This year we handed out:
It’s a Boy latex balloons, wall hooks, 1 curtain panel, Thanksgiving coloring books, pipe cleaners, a light switch & cover, a size XxxxL blue UnderArmer brand jersey, furniture knobs, some kind of adapter plugs, luggage tags, phone camera cover protective things.

The fact that you get enough BOCs to actually need a strategy for what to do with the leftovers is vexatious in the extreme.

Yay!! Glad you found a way to give the crap to others - much better than just trashing it.

I planned to do that a few years ago, but I didn’t want anyone to call the cops on me for handing out so many “personal massagers”

Now that I moved to the country I get Zero trick or treaters. That’s ok.
Any other time if the year it’s….

All those leftover bodies come in really handy when decorating each year… I just hate having to dig up the garden and disturb that great biome.

Yeah, but I want to keep the bones… the meat takes forever to compost.
I might reconfigure them next year.

We only get a handful of college students each year, so it doesn’t take much. During covid I snagged a few boc, and we didn’t have any trick or treaters so I have a ton of crap still sitting around.

My fiancé is planning for next year, to get rid of the remaining crap. She wants to put up signs a few days before Halloween advertising that we will give away free crap and candy to college students. I’m a little worried that might make us look a little creepy/kidnappery.

I suggested, during the peak of covid, to fill halloween (easter) eggs with candy and launch the goods to the kids on the streets with a giant slingshot or potato gun…
I could see that going badly.
