whatcha eatin'?

Does your significant other think you’ve totally lost your mind yet?

By the time you start taking pictures of the trash…definitely.

Uh, forget I said that.

If I die from drinking Diet Coke, it will have been a pleasant death. I don’t drink coffee, tea or much else. I wouldn’t be surprised if it just pumped through my veins naturally. Just think, less p-chop entries to go through!

As for the “give up sweet,” it is much different for a woman than a man.

I don’t care for Dr. Pepper…I am not fond of the taste. Never liked root beer, cream soda or licorice, either. It is all in the same vein to me.

He knows I’ve lost my mind! [;)]

No pics of trash. Besides kitty litter isn’t all that interesting.

I do have an impressive collection of wrapping paper & ribbon, though. [;)]

*As an aside, there is really nothing personal in these pics…it’s all what you would find in any store or pharmacy. It is just collected into a photo based on preference, use or necessity.

I find it interesting. Some people might have all gourmet foods/products…some may not. Whether it says something about you, that is up for you to decide.

Right now I’m drinking coffee.

I just cleaned out my kitchen cabinets…I so need to learn how to post pictures…

Question…KT, why do you have cans of tuna and ham in the refrigerator, more room there then the cabinets?

Did you ever try real oatmeal in the microwave? It only takes 3 minutes. I like it better.

When my daughter was small she loved visiting the young aunts, lots of makeup and shoes to play with. You have the makeup, do you have the shoes? I was going to ask to see them until I realized there are guys who like that…ick…

my sons friend used one of my pictures on his website…maybe when he comes home for christmas he will show me how to do it…then again, he isn’t one of the kids who talks to me when he comes over…

obob, I know you are editing this post in your mind , and getting all uptight…give up, not everyone can write, just go with the flow. I will let you laugh at my mistakes, but stop getting upset by them. Life is too short.

I think someone has a tutorial on posting pics. I use www.imageshack.us and I click “browse,” find the file I want to post and click “okay.” Then imageshack does it’s magic and provides a link that you can just copy and paste into the message window.

No, I am just psycho about refrigerating things. Actually, I am probably a little OC (Obsessive Compulsive). I have to have all labels facing outward, if possible. I need the Diet Coke cartons to read right-side up. My mother always instilled weird things in me. She used disinfectant on everything and cooked everything in tin foil. I get freaked out watching other people cook. Some people leave butter out on the counter all the time, which irks me. Some people cut meat on a counter then use a dish “rag” to wipe it up. It reminds me of that commercial where the woman takes a chicken thigh and rubs it on the counter and then on the refrigerator. So, long story short, if there is a question or not something should be refrigerated, I err on the side of caution.

As far as the oatmeal…I probably would like the container kind better, but when I say I can’t cook. I really can’t cook - no lie. The easier something is, the better. The portions are bagged and you add the precise amount of water.

LOL! Yes, I have lots of shoes. I used to have more. sniff My husband has a rule. For every new pair, I have to throw away two older pairs. I generally like funky shoes, most with heels…but I don’t discriminate against flats. I wish I liked sneakers more, but I think they are silly looking on me. I have a pair of Dr. Marten boots, for real. Had Dr. Marten shoes, but they sadly wore out. I dig sandals…any color. I do like to be barefoot in the summer, but won’t go outside with barefeet. In the garden, I ocassionally wear those rubbery clogs. In the winter, I wear these dorky thick booty socks from wal*mart in weird patterns. Only bad thing is that I have to change out of them if I am going to wear shoes…they are just too thick. I love feet, but nicely shaped feet. If the second toe sticks out too far, that irks me.

Yes, you need to learn how to get photos up. I love little peeks!

I know a number of people who say much the same about tobacco.
Although I wish they wouldn’t (even if only because I’d selfishly like them to be around longer - just not so close as to share breathing space), I feel bound to support them in making their own choices.

I buy the big cardboard tubes of “old fashioned” oatmeal. I think the cost savings may be as much as ten-to-one. But I make it easy - I keep a plastic scoop of the right size **right in there ** with it, a dedicated single-purpose tool. (It’s actually the plastic icing cup from a tube of instant cinnamon buns) For my big bowl of breakfast oatmeal, I open the tube and measure out two scoops, then I grab a measuring cup and get exactly a cup of water. Two minutes in my (low powered) microwave; stir; then one more minute. Yeah - the packets would be a little easier, but not much. And I like the taste of the “old fashioned” better - it’s processed less, which also makes it just slightly more healthy. Sure, the instant “cooks” in a single minute or so, but that’s because it’s been practically pounded into nothingness at the factory already.

That’s the thing…that’s life. People make their own choices - whether good, bad or indifferent. I subscribe to the theory of allowing people to make their own mistakes or fortunes. (I am very liberal by nature, though.)

Tobacco is tough. I don’t want to open any doors for discussion as it could get heated. But perhaps think of tobacco as a numbing agent for some…a way to cope with everyday stresses. To condemn or condone its use is pointless. It will be an issue that will consistently be split.

I do not doubt it is more economical, but some people pay for convience. For instance, I use to have a 28.8 modem several years ago. Could I connect to the internet and do everything I wanted to today? Sure. But having a cable modem just makes more sense for my lifestyle. As do a lot of the foods I have around. Most of the veggies can be microwaved. Who the hell knows how long to cook fresh asparagus anyhow? And do you cook it in water, olive oil or butter? Too complicated…

See, I would wash the scoop after each use. I wash jeans after every use…even if it is for an hour. Some people can fold up their jeans and wear them again and again. I just don’t get it.

I am sure most of the veggies I eat have little nutritional content as I like them mushy. Mushy oatmeal doesn’t bother me.

If you get rid of bothersome stuff like the water and food, you would have room for more Diet Coke…

Personally, I have a second refrigerator out in the garage, for “pre-cooling” my Dr Pepper. Plus a little tiny one under a table in my office for the “ready” supply.

What is bubble and squeak? Where have I heard it before, English childrens books?
Have you seen the new Lynne Truss book? The cover says “the utter bloody rudeness of the world today” Sooo very English. The spine of the book hasn’t been broken open yet. It is a gift for my daughter so I can’t peek. What are the odds of making the New York Times bestsellers list with a book on grammer and again with manners?

KT…no cooking…half a cup of oatmeal, one cup water. Put cup in dishwasher. Use a big bowl so it doesn’t boil over. 3 minutes in microwave…done. Try it, you may find you like the instant better, but it really isn’t faster. If you try that , I will try to post pictures.
