Why do the reaction emoji's no longer show tooltip descriptions when you hover over them?

Basically, that ^^^

Used to, when you held your mouse over an emoji with which someone reacted to you, a little tooltip would show up telling you what that emoji is and who issued it. Now, you have to click them to find out the who; it still doesn’t show WHAT the emoji is and some of these new emjois people are using… I have no CLUE what they are!

Hello.

If the emoji is within the body of the post, you can still hover:

If the emoji is next to the username, that’s the “Custom Status” from your preferences page. It will show your message when hovered over.

The reactions have been updated to be easier to see who gave you what. Can’t hover on those. Sorry.

A word that is WAY too often overused and usually doesn’t mean what the user thinks it does.

Sure… we can see WHO gave WHAT… we just have no idea what WHAT actually is anymore.

A agree, you can’t tell what some emoji’s are and hovering over no longer helps.
So I assume they are good ones. :man_shrugging:

I usually just do that too haha…

But occasionally I really AM curious about what one might be, so you can do this:

When you copy the emoji, you are copying that missing description. So just paste it into your text editor, and voila! There is the text description. Or just paste it in the search bar of your open-already browser (you don’t have to actually enter and perform the search so you won’t lose your page).

(Obviously this is for those of us not on a mobile device, I have no idea what to do on there.)

On the mobile website, you can tap on the bottom left corner (where the list of reacted reactions for a comment are), to pull up a list:

Then you can long press on one, to see what it is:

I’ve discovered that if I click my heels together three times while clicking on an emoji, it may say what the emoji is.
