Why is Amazon Pay the only payment option?

The last time I purchased from Woot Shirt, I paid with Paypal. In fact, every time I’ve purchased from Woot Shirt I’ve paid with Paypal. Recently I found some shirts I like and went to the shopping cart and found the only payment option is Amazon Pay. I know Amazon purchased Woot a few years ago so I can see Amazon Pay being an option, but it is now the only option.

I don’t use Amazon so I don’t have an Amazon account. It is really disappointing that they removed the option to pay by any other means. Until Woot gives other options for payment, I will not be buying shirts from Woot Shirt or purchasing on any other Woot site. Pretty sad, this is the only payment option. Amazon may believe the world revolves around them, that is not at all the true.

  1. Amazon purchased Woot in 2010.
  2. This payment change was in 2023, as outlined here.
  3. Woot went 13 years without changing their payment method.

I, too, miss the paypal option.
Especially if item is a gift i dont want the hubby to see what it is

Fun video, fun times. Sad things are changing and not for the better. What’s next? All t-shits have to have an Amazon logo? (I know, don’t give them ideas! :smile:)

Nah. That logo uses up ink, and any printer owner knows how ink costs are.

So I wonder who we should e-mail to say that having only one payment option is not really okay and that they should have at least Paypal in addition to Amazon Pay?

Just get a PayPal credit card and add it to your Amazon wallet

I like Woot. I can’t help that Amazon bought them. They used to have an option to purchase through Paypal. Now that option is gone and there is only Amazon Pay.
