Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac, or Linux?

I am interested in what everyone is doing now Windows 10 support has officially ended. If you are or were a Windows 10 user, what is your chosen path?

  • Windows 10, not worried about updates
  • Windows 10, procured an extra year of updates
  • Windows 11, not worried about shady Microsoft practices
  • MacOS
  • Linux (which distribution or version?)
  • Chrome
  • Something else (what?)

I still have computers running versions of Windows XP, 7, 10 and 11.
I am looking to move forward with Linux, and I am starting with a Zorin evaluation.

  • Work, W11 … eventually. Some users have been switched over already, some haven’t.
  • Personal, Mint and MX have done me well, though I do have a Chromebook too.

When are you upgrading my setup?

I don’t know. A PET is a lot of responsibility …

I’ll take cash instead.

There wasn’t a selection that exactly fits my situation. I’m on Windows 11 and I generally like it.

However, the aforementioned shady practices by Microsoft are driving me to leave. I don’t like being spied upon by either Windows 11 or MacOS.

I’m already playing around with Ubuntu and I’m happy with it, but I’m open to other distros. Ubuntu is basically turnkey.
