Just received mine… It came in a simple box with new filters. The app is not great but usable in that the initial setup feels like a web app. There’s a Homebridge, homebridge-winix-purifiers, plugin for HomeKit integration for monitoring the AQ and has full set of controls(On/Off, Fan speed, Auto, Plasma, Sleep). The HB plug-in recommend you setup a separate account in App and do a share to allow access. The unit, after installing the filters and the initial plug-in and app setup, shows 18% filter life left! To fix this, locate the filter reset button in a hole on the top control panel. On the upper row to the far right there is a hole for pin or paper clip. Press it for five or so seconds until you hear the beep(the filter replacement light will blink as soon as you press the button). Can’t speak to the long term reliability of this unit. The previous air filter I owned, Sanyo, lasted 10+ years until I can’t find replacement filter for them…
Honestly at this point you may as well buy a refurb C545 rather than their filters given the prices.
This isn’t a good price. I would wait for the Costco deal they constantly have with a new unit with additional filters.
I got three. One manufacturered I’m 2021 and the other two in 2023. The 2021 has a noticeable whine to it. I recommend getting a new one from Costco instead of playing refurb roulette.
