Worst NATIONAL pizza chain:

Worst NATIONAL pizza chain:

You know that thing where you take something apart and put it back together but it doesn’t quite fit the same way even though you followed the instructions and it should work but now the only thing you can think about is how it’s a little off and then you throw it away because you don’t really need the thing or that kind of negativity in your life? That is Domino’s pizza.

Pizza Hut has always disgusted me. It drips with grease and the crust is this nasty butter soaked sponge. Blech.
Little Caesar’s is drunk food: hot fast cheap. One step up from Totinos because you don’t have to cook it.
Dominos thin crust is surprisingly good so long as your local shop knows how to actually cook it without burning it.
Papa Johns, despite the politics of its founder, is consistently good for a nationwide chain, but can never outdo even a passable local restaurant.
I miss old school godfathers pizza. I swear they put crack in their mozzarella.

When Pizza Hut started with the buffet, it was the beginning of the end. It used to be excellent. Now it tastes like chalk dust crust and plastic cheese. Did they ho into a partnership with Home Depot and nobody said anything? Stupid Synergy.

Hungry Howies is the worst. It’s like they put the worst ingredients they can find on a circle of cardboard and call it pizza. I would rather have gas station pizza than Hungry Howies (especially Hunt Brothers, that stuff is actually pretty good!).

If you want the original Pizza Hut experience that many of us remember as kids then you need to go and eat at one of the Pizza Hut restaurants outside of the US. I’ve eaten several times at the one in Costa Rica and it’s everything I remember, other than ordering in Spanish.

I’m not sure why there’s so much hate for Little Caesars. I think the issue might be that they tend to undercook it. I’ve found that it is frequently better the next day after popping it in the toaster oven.

I can’t stand Domino’s. It’s better now since they retooled the recipes a few years back, before they did that I wouldn’t eat it to save my life. I can now tolerate it if someone else serves it at a party.

Papa John’s is the only one I didn’t grow up around. I’ve really enjoyed it the few times I’ve had it. Especially with their garlic butter sauce.

Ok Woot. You owe me some pizza now that you’ve made me hungry.

There are a number of bad ones - and sometimes you have a good chain but a poorly run location. The BEST pizza I’ve ever had is in the central part of Louisiana - several locations - not sure how far they may have spread. (I’m told Johnny’s Pizza chain is very similar) BJ’s Pizza. And they don’t cut into slices/wedges - they cut in half then across in strips. We used to order a “Sweep the Kitchen” (minus the anchovies & olives) - - - can’t wait for the next trip back to have another!.

All of them have cheese but if it’s not 100% pure mozzarella, I’m a gonna see The Godfather!

They aren’t nationwide, but their reputation sure is.

Shakey’s used to be the best, but when the chain returned, they didn’t bring the recipe back. Absolutely hideous and formulaic.

I’ve always detested Little Ceasars, but I can only eat thin crusty now so I tried it… and it’s actually not bad. I hated it before because the pizza with standard crust was ALL crust, skimpy toppings. But the thin crust “extra most bestest” pepperoni was pretty good.

You should know that your getting crap from Little Caesar’s upon ordering it. They advertise especially for the low end. Five bux for a cooked pizza? What do you expect?!

Pizza Hut was once a good thing and moved downmarket a few rungs when Papa John’s, not Papa John (the jackass) himself, entered the fray. Little Caesar’s tells you it’s cheap and not to get your hopes up. Domino’s is trying to focus on too many things other than pizza. For that, the quality of the pizza has suffered. It wasn’t great to start, but they recognized this, tried to improve it, and still suck. For that, Domino’s is my pick. They even took the word “pizza” out of their name. That’s saying something.

For pizza it all boils down to being compared to sex. When it’s good, it’s really good. When it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.

Papa John’s isn’t bad at all. Why the hate?
Little Caesar’s is what it is. Drive through and pick up a $5 pizza just about any time!
Domino’s used to be the choice for pizza delivery deals but now it pretty much sucks.
Pizza Hut used to be good but never a real contender on the delivery field. Dining in was a decent experience but never the best. Now they aren’t even a place to consider.
The real king of national chains would have been Godfather’s pizza. Everyone knows it. But again, not a real contender in the delivery market.
CiCi’s is terrible but you go cause the kids don’t know any better.

I couldn’t agree more.

Pizza Hut is not pizza, it’s a greasy mess in it’s own category.
Domino’s is just off. Can’t quite place it, but taste’s nasty.
Little Caesars - not great, not terrible. Hot, fast, and cheap. Best one listed here.
Papa John’s is always undercooked. If you like raw pizza, this one’s for you.

I have way too many great local options that I never need the national chains. Citizen Pie is the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Italy. They are 5 minutes from my office.
