WTF Pricing: October 31, 2018

Prices start at $1 (Super-limited quantities)

1pm CT: Lodge 10.25" Cast Iron Skillet SOLD OUT

2pm CT: Maxx Action Galactic Series Photon Saber ALMOST SOLD OUT

WTF (Woot’s Totally Fun-tastic) Pricing is a way for us to give you a chance at a ridiculous price on a specific deal without losing our shirts. Here’s how it works:

At the start time (see above), the deal launches at $1. There are just a few at this price. If you missed it, stay on that page for the next offer.

Every 10 minutes, the price goes up a little more, with just a few at each price level. We’ll keep raising the price until we reach a “final” price and/or it sells out. The price will increase 4-5 times before the final price is reached.

HINTS, TIPS, and EXPECTATIONS

WTF Pricing is for these offers only.

The deals will appear “Sold Out” until WTF Pricing starts at the specific times above.

When the offer is live, click on it to try and buy it. A lot of other people will be clicking on it too.

If you miss an offer, keep trying. Refresh the WTF page until the sale goes live again with the next price.

There are only a few quantities at each price point. Not just one, but not dozens. A FEW. Each level will sell out really quickly. Most likely you’re not going to get one for $1. BUT YOU NEVER KNOW.

When you click on the offer, you might be ushered into Woot’s Vestibule of Patience, the queue of customers who are trying to order. From there, you’ll either be taken to the checkout page, or our servers will hiccup and kick you out to Woot’s main page.

You may get a message that your order has been denied or canceled. This just means that we ran out of inventory at that price before we could complete your order. Most likely this is going to happen, so just be ready for the disappointment.

And hey, if you ARE lucky enough to get the deal at one of the crazy-low prices, post about it in the thread below, or on social media, so other Wooters don’t think this is some bait and switch deal. We can say it’s not, but the internet never believes anyone. Help a Woot out, OK?

THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!

Too bad it couldn’t be the Woot skillet:

That is pretty awesome!

Is shipping free for these today? The blaster is only $10 at walmart, so $1 WTF plus $6 shipping is really a WTE deal… (what the, ehhhh)

Also, +1 on the woot skillet idea. I never did get one of those :frowning:

Shipping is still $6, but if you’re an Amazon Prime member, just use the “Login with Amazon” button at the sign in screen and you’ll get shipping for free!

I know, I know. But amazon login is still screwed up for me so hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I always have problems with the cart and amazon pricing for WTF pricing. It loads with $6 shipping, but then has to refresh to update to free shipping. By the time that happens, the item is sold out.

Would Woot adjust the charge after the fact if I were to log in with my woot account in order to have the best chance of getting the item at the $1 WTF price?

It does look like you’ve been able to log in with Prime on your previous orders. Maybe try another web browser if you’re encountering some difficulty and that might help.

We suggest using a different web browser and see if that works for you quicker.

I have, prime log in switched accounts on me…kinda dead horse i’m getting tired of beating. prime log in decided on its own to switch from this account (my preferred) to my old account. cannot figure out how or why, but @wajeremy (i think) said someone thought they found the problem and was working on a fix.

this is text so my inflections aren’t coming across. I’m not mad. Frustrated a bit, but that doesn’t affect me trying to score something for a dollar. If it works, great. If not, meh.

@jthebird The fix we’re doing should fix a very sporadic issue, but yours seems weirdly endemic. Have you tried clearing your amazon and woot cookies in your browser?

I have the exact same problem, when the cart originally loads and the buy it now button is orange we can’t actually click it for a good 5 seconds because the Amazon wallet part of the page is still loading and trying to set the default payment. After which time we can actually check out.

I would love the ability to just link an amazon prime account for the free shipping and still use PayPal.

Side note, it actually did it for me once as a glitch, it seems my Amazon login expired before my Woot login expired, so when I purchased an item it gave me free shipping but billed my PayPal.

Ugh, that makes me crazy. WIll get @DustyJello to nudge his buddies in Pay with Amazon as that is not acceptable latency.

It would be great if you could do that, Jeremy. That “load, nope just kidding, load again” process is frustrating. anything that could speed it up would be appreciated.

Just add a 5 second redirect delay thing for non-Amazon payment users.
“Please wait while other users’ Amazon Payment methods are loading. You’ll be automatically redirected to checkout after 5 seconds.”

When I started logging in with Amazon, I quit getting BoCs. The delay was enough to keep me from buying one in time. During a Woot-off, I just log into Woot directly to avoid the delay while loading my payment/shipping methods. I have to log back into Amazon again if it’s a non-BoC that I want to purchase.

We have a a couple of the photon sabers. They don’t make sounds like the light sabers of star wars. Similar sounds and light patterns to those laser guns of days gone by.

Also, the blade came separated from the handle on one, but I managed to tuck it back in there. Pressure fit…probably should add some glue. I might be in for a few more at a buck each…

I’m having the same problems with the Amazon login, @wajeremy. It often makes me log in every time I want to add something to my cart, and also sometimes when I’m just looking at items. I get stuck in a big loop of logging back in when I’m using the app or browser, and that loop happens two or three times in the process of trying to purchase something in my cart. I’ve almost given up and paid for shipping a couple times and have ended up getting too frustrated to complete purchases at least a couple times.
Clicking the “keep me logged in” button doesn’t work in Safari or Chrome. Maybe Woot can make a Touch ID login, instead of typing a password every time?

Hey @trainerr - weird. I’ve not seen that behavior and we’ve tried to repro it here. Are you using an adblocker or popup blocker - we may be able to reproduce it if we can replicate your environment.
