X40 Outdoor Pickleball Balls

X40 Outdoor Pickleball Balls

Buyer beware. These are NOT the popular Franklin X40 pickleballs, which cost $21.95 a dozen on Amazon. I have no idea what company makes these, and the claims for tournament use seem bogus. The Amazon reviews are all via Vine and seem equally suspect.

I’m confused (as usual), some places it says indoor/ outdoor and others it only specifies outdoor. How can I be sure these are REALLY safe for indoor use?

Oh, and I’m so glad these are WINDPROOF. Takes a load off my mind.

Hi there. These are being obtained from Amazon inventory so we don’t have a lot of information. Here it is on Amazon. There may be more information there.

Amazon.com : Feel my rhythm X40 Outdoor Pickleball Balls - USAPA Approved Pickle Ball, Durable Indoor/Outdoor Play, 12-Count, Yellow : Sports & Outdoors

After more investigation, claims that these balls are used in the US Open Pickleball Championships are BS. The FRANKLIN X40 is used there. These balls appear to be cheap knockoffs attempting to trade on the Franklin brand. Check out this hilarious claim from the product page:
“Whether you are a beginner or an advanced GOLFER, these outdoor balls will improve your game!”

Bottom line: These balls are crap. Don’t buy them.

I just received these and they are a fake. I compared them with a real Franklin X40. The holes on these are larger (not an outdoor ball) and it is not the optic greenish color of the real ball. It is a lemon color. They also came poorly packaged in a plastic bag. They are cheap knockoffs with a Franklin logo.
