I’ve used one of these for a solid year now, at work, camping, and for business travel. The stitching is coming apart at the top of the straps, a portion of the PALS webbing has pulled free, and one of the interior zippers has failed. Having said all that, for today’s price of $40, it’s a really great backpack. Plenty of storage and compartments to keep things organized. Straps are lightly padded and comfortable, material is durable (but obviously the thread being used - not so much).

I had an issue with the stitching too but I contacted Yukon Outfitters, sent it to them and they replaced it with a new one. Great customer support! I would buy another, actually have bought a few other size packs they sell, so I highly recommend them!
Mine is also experiencing some mild de-threading. The bag is made of thick material, which does not seem evident in the pictures, and has a ton of pockets. There are even full length pockets on either side that I have never seen in any online pictures. That reviewer is not kidding about finding pockets six months later. This means that it fills quickly and gets heavy. Not good for travel, but if you have a bunch of little things that need to be organized, it is great. I use mine for the gym and love it.

Are there any reviews on this bag?
I see it’s MOLLE compliant but does that necessarily mean it’s waterproof? I think my bf might like this.
TYIA!

MOLLE refers to the webbing on the outside of the pack that allows you to attach things. It has nothing to do with waterproofing. This bag is definitely not waterproof.

hi im going backpacking around Japan for 2 weeks. would a bag like this do the job well?
[/quote]
I would recommend this bag for a 2 week back packing trip around Indonesia, but not Japan. If you’ve already purchased this bag I suggest you try and change your itinerary.

dont worry, haven’t bought yet. why do you say its not good for japan?
i have one of these and could not be happier. i usually use it for lugging purchases at flea markets and swap meets. regardless how heavy, it’ never uncomfortable. multiple pockets make it easy to separate and protect breakables.
I took this bag to Tasmania and it held up perfectly. I own several Yukon bags and all have performed well. Yes, I have had some issues but overall these are great packs.
This backpack completes my kit of duffle bag and rifle case. All three items have superior craftsmanship. I use them a lot in the backpack will be a nice addition. Highly highly recommend.
