how much is this at a local asian market?

Not just Asian markets, the Google says Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, Amazon, Vons. Looks like $3-$4 each. I have never had them.

Anyone know if these are good or MRE quality?

I’ve bought these from Costco in the past. They’re actually pretty darn good, assuming you don’t expect you’re going to get top quality pho in an instant ramen-like package. My recommendation is to use these as a “pho starter” and add your own ingredients like basil, sambal, hoisin, bean sprouts or meat.

…but I want to add that I get these at Costco for $16 for 9, making it $1.78/bowl compared to Woot selling 12 for $30 at $2.50/bowl. My Costco only sells the beef variety (which is the one I’d get, anyways) so unless you want the variety pack (or don’t have a Costco membership), you’re better off asking a friend who has a membership.

Well, usually things that you add water to are tastier than MRE…
MRE is ready to eat as is, without water and therefore greasier in order to make shelf stable.

Is this price and quality worth avoiding the pho queue?

Sometimes Costco has them on sale, and the price drops to about $1.18 per bowl.

We bought some for our friend’s nurses, but we also brought in fresh, washed Thai basil, chopped green onions, sliced onions, and other sliced vegetables for them to add.

We were told it was a great snack for them…but they could have just been trying to not hurt our feelings. :grimacing:

I have had some noodle microwave dishes where the noodles were like chewing plastic = MRE/starvation quality.

Is Pho King a good place to get pho?

Not sure. There are a ton of Pho in the PNW.
I have only seen a What the Pho in person.

I liked it.
I had some really great Pho in the Casino in Snoqualmie. If you are out that way, like Sushi and have a fair amount of cash… Go there… They had the biggest freshest Sashimi I have ever ate!

When our friends are discharged from the VA, this is one of the places we will consider “road-tripping” to.

We love sashimi and sushi!

Thank you so much for the suggestion!

p.s. We might have to wait until our friends’ taste returns…but this place in Snoqualmie sounds amazing! We looked up the casino’s food offerings, and it all looks amazing. We’ll start saving up for the trip!:crossed_fingers::pray::+1::hugs:

So glad I could help. We had a couple offices out there in that area. There are such beautiful places away from Seattle…
The entire Snoqualmie valley is amazing. We stayed at a few VRBO places out there and they were great.
One place we stayed was at the foot of the Tiger Mountain nature preserve, the house was surrounded by these giant ferns, the grass was more like MOSS… I felt like a Fraggle was about to hop out from around the corner and sing me a song at any moment…

This place was a few houses down from one of the places we stayed.

Wow, that place looks amazing!

Wonder how full that creek is right now?

Did you guys make use of the outdoor fire pit?

It looks so warm and inviting inside!

We have never used Vrbo before…so something new for us!:+1:

We weren’t sure, but is there an entrance to the house without steps? The two we see have steps. We were just wondering…that is a fantastic recommendation! Thanks!:+1::smile:

Thanks again for the suggestion! We were showing it to our friends, and we discussed taking a road-trip to some place like this. It gives them something to look forward to after the chemo, radiation, and surgeries are done.
